I wouldn't be able to suggest you with which branch you should go for.As,this is a really important decision amongst the students.You should only go with that branch in which you feel you are more comfortable and interested.It's but obvious that you wouldn't want to waste your 4 years of life in studying something in which you are not at all interested.

Now, coming time placement statistics of both the colleges i.e, Andhra university and GVP. So, seeing previous year Placement records of ANDHRA UNIVERSITY the highest package offered till date is 7lpa and the average ranges around 2.5-3.5lpa whereas in GVP the highest package offered till date is 14lpa and the average ranges around 3-5lpa.

So, on the basis of the placement records I would suggest you to go for GVP.

see at this cutoff you have no chances for IITS in any of the category you belongs to. however you may apply for state government or private engineering engineering colleges. you have chances for nit sikkim in Electrical Engineering(Specialization in Control Power and Electric Drives), nit meghalaya -Power & Energy Systems .

It is quite difficult to predict the cut off to get admission to Andhra University because the cut off changes depending on various factors like total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. And the cut off is different for each branch. You haven't mentioned your branch but you should aim to score minimum 150 marks or above to have decent chances of getting seat in Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam.

see cutoff score changes every year and it varies with certain factors like number of applicants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, students category and so on. admission to m.tech in andhra university is based on gate score or appgecet score, however based on gate score separate counselling is done and remaining seats are filled by appgecet score.

however right now it is very difficult to say about the possibility of admission since it also depends on number of candidates applied for that particular stream. do participate in the counselling process and also apply for others exam or counselling of m.tech as well.
