Here are the admission details regarding BITS Pilani HD:
Eligibility Criteria:
For admission to their M.E programme a minimum of 60% of marks are required in the qualifying Degree examination i.e. B.E. or B.Tech or any other equivalent examination.
Admission process:
Admission to all M.E. programmes will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the BITS HD admission test or based on GATE score but only for M.E. in Software Systems, you will have to compulsorily appear for the BITS HD test as the admission to this programme is only through BITS HD exam. For admission to the M.Phil programme, the shortlisted candidates will be called for a test and interview.
Two separate final merit lists will be prepared for each degree program; one based on the GATE score(for 50% of the seats), and the other based on marks obtained in BITS HD test(for the rest 50% of the seats). In each program, 50% of the seats will be filled through GATE scores and other 50% by BITS HD test marks. The admission committee will consider a cut-off score in each category, based on the applications received and the seats available.
How to Apply:
1. You need to apply through the prescribed application form available online at http://www.bitsadmission.com/hd.
2. While applying online, you will be asked to give preferences of the programmes offered. In addition, you need to opt for one of the following:
(i) Consideration for admission only on the basis of GATE score(Scores of GATE 2019, GATE 2018 or GATE 2017 will be only considered to admissions to M.E. programmes)
(ii) Consideration for admission only on the basis of marks obtained in the BITS HD online test
(iii) Consideration for admission based on the basis of both GATE score and marks obtained in the BITS HD online test
3. If you wish to be considered for admission through GATE you must enter details of your GATE score, year of examination, All India Rank and Registration / Roll Number.
4. If you want to write BITS HD Test you need to give your preference for three Test centres.
5. The completed application form along with the prescribed application fee should be submitted online by the prescribed deadline.
Application fee:
• Consideration through GATE score only: 1000 INR
• All others: 3150 INR (including the fee for BITS HD online test)

Reporting date for admission in respective campuses: 29th July 2019
Registration: 1st August 2019
For those students shortlisted for the M.Phil. programme the list will be announced on 3rd June. The test and interview for these candidates will be on 18th July and admission offers will be made on 20th July.
Details of BITS HD (BITS HIGHER DEGREE) examination:
The test will be a computer based online test conducted by BITS Pilani at different cities of India.
test I: Duration: 45 Minutes. Total No of questions: 30
Test I is compulsory for all students who are applying for any of the Higher Degree programmes of the Institute and will consist of the following sections:
Core Mathematics – 15 questions
English Language Skills & Logical Reasoning – 15 questions
Test II: Duration: 105 Minutes. A total number of questions: 70
Test II is for students applying to all Higher Degree programmes except those who are applying for M.E. in Sanitation Science, Technology and Management and M.E. in Software systems. This paper will test student’s grasp of the basic subjects of his discipline.
Test for Software Systems: Duration: 60 Minutes. Total number of questions: 50
This special test for Software Systems is required for only those students who are applying for M.E. Software systems.

BITS Provides two scholarships :
1. Merit cum need ( based on CGPA, upto 80% can be waived)
if you don't mess with acads you can easily get 60% fees concession .
2. Merit scholarship
As you come to campus on the joining day itself you can see different banks with their respective stalls in front of the academic buildings. All you need is your BITS ID card as security and loan repayment time is long enough (minimum 4-6 years).
I would say from my knowledge, an average Bitsian once passed out from the campus can completely repay his loan from savings of his 2 years earnings.
My suggestion in the end is out of all the reasons one could think of not joining BITS Pilani, getting a loan should be the last reason and should not be much of a matter of concern.
The scholarships only cover the college fees. the mess fees doesn't come under it.

The tentative dates for the start to admission to BITS is the third week of June. The admission list for round 1 will release around 20th June and counselling for seat allocation will take place in the next few days. So it is advisable to be in India for counselling in the third week of June.

Hii Ankush!!!! To apply for bits and IITs the basic eligibility criteria is that you must have an aggregate of 75% overall in 12th and also 60% minimum each in physics, chemistry and maths. So you can't replace. Good luck!!

It depends on the Campus and Dual Degree Branch.
Cutoffs are highest for PILANI CAMPUS followed by Goa and then HYDERABAD.
Here are (2017) cutoffs for dual degrees (Pilani campus) -
1. CSE - 8.3
2. EEE - 7.7
3. ENI - 7.2
4. Mech - 6.9
5. Chemical - 6.2
6. Civil - 5.5
