Ph.D. Eligibility at DDU University, Gorakhpur:

Master’s Degree: Required in a relevant field.

Minimum Marks:

General: 55%

SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH: 50%

Entrance Exam: Must qualify the Research Entrance Test (RET)

General: 50% marks

Reserved: 45% markd

Exemption from RET: If you’ve cleared UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, SLET, or hold an M.Phil as per UGC rules.

At DDU Gorakhpur University, a minimum of 55% marks in a Master's degree is required for Ph.D. admission; a relaxation of 5% is given to SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates.

• Minimum Qualification :

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject with at least 55% marks (General category).

  • For SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWD candidates, 5% relaxation hota hai, toh unke liye 50% bhi chalega.

• Entrance Test :

  • DDU apna PhD Entrance Test (PET) conduct karta hai.

  • Agar aapne NET/JRF/GATE qualify kiya hai, toh aapko entrance test se exemption mil sakta hai (subject to university rules).

• Interview :

  • Entrance test ke baad interview/viva bhi hota hai jahan research proposal ya subject knowledge assess kiya jata hai.
