Pune is one of the leading IT Hubs of the country. In a recent news article Pune was featured as the Second Highest Paying City for software jobs across India (after Bangalore). With MNCs like Nvidia and Research Organisations like NCL ( National Chemical Laboratory, Pune (http://www.ncl-india.org/) ) and IISER Pune ( Indian Institute of Science, Education and Research- Pune (http://www.iiserpune.ac.in/) ) Pune gives ample opportunities for the ‘research-minded’ students.

IIIT Pune has a total intake of 120 students per year only!
60 students for Computer Science and Engineering.
60 students for Electronics and Communication Engineering.

IIIT Sri City takes a whooping intake of 270 students per year!
200 students for Computer Science and Engineering. I feel the lesser the number of students, the more focused and conducive is the environment for learning. Each student has a better chance of receiving greater attention of the professor and also the number of opportunities per student increases.

IIT Pune is a wonderful college and has a overall student rating of 3.8/5 and has some great positive reviews by its students about the college.

They have some good infrastructure maintained for its students which provides them with a good and a calm environment with all amenities for their studies and living.

They have some great faculty facilities as well, as mostly all of them are very highly qualified in their own areas and are helpful in solving the doubts of students.

Recently a student was placed with a highest package salary of 36 lakhs per annum. On average students are placed with a package salary of 7 lakhs per annum.

Top companies like  Rakuten, Nutanix, etc. take part in the placement cell of the college.

IIT Tiruchirapalli has a overall student rating of 3.5/5 and has some great positive reviews by its students about the college.

They have very well maintained the infrastructural facilities with all the amenities in mind for a wonderful environment for students to study and live in.

They have highly qualified lecturers as well, who provide the best of their education in enhancing the knowledge and skills of students.

Around 70% of students get placed in the placement cell and recently a student was placed with a highest package salary of 14 lakhs per annum and on average students get placed with a package salary of 6 lakhs per annum.

Therefore, both these institutions are really great and wonderful in terms of education and placements. They almost offer the similar packages for placements. Henceforth, both the colleges are good and one could chose and opt for anyone among them as per their suitability.

IIIT Pune currently sharing Campus with Trinity Academy of Engineering near Bopdev ghat, pune which is nearly 15 kilometers Pune railway station.

Hostel Facility:

Separate Hostels for boys and girls with basic facilities available. Except few day scholars all the students avail the hostel facility provided by college.

Campus :

The huge central library is beautifully maintained and has books from all genre whereas the hostel campus has big beautiful grounds where we always find different groups of people enjoying the sports. They have well structured laboratories. There are different type of extracurricular activities held by our college on regular basis which includes sports events, cultural events, conferences, seminars and workshops too.

The Faculty :

Faculties of IIITP are very supportive.If you have any kind of problem related to teachers, syllabus, academics just talk to the HOD's or any senior faculties they take it seriously.They are very helpful for us that they proved many times.

Placement: They provide many opportunities of internships to students in industries, research centres and academic institutions also the average stipend provided is around INR 16000. There are many firms who recruit best students and offers very good package.

Ragging:

IIITP is free from ragging. Specially seniors are very supportive. Here seniors want only respect, punctuality and your efforts nothing else .

Both the institute are very good in terms of academics but if we analyze deeper then NIT AP is better from IIIT Pune because:

• The Curriculum in NIT AP is better than IIIT
• The placements in NIT AP is also better compared to that of IIIT Pune
• The faculty members of NIT AP is more into research and as a result the exposure to the field you will get in NIT AP will be better than IIIT Pune
• Infrastructurally both of the college are great and there are nothing to distinguish about it.

Not sure above the amount of concession, however in every NIT, IIT and IIIT, there is a concession on hostel and admission fee but some colleges take full mess fee from all the students where as there are colleges which provide concession in mess fee too for SC, ST, OBC and EWS students.

Going by the name definitely a government college is considered better than private colleges, it has a value for it's name and all other things.

Being a National Institute it will definitely get a permanent campus. The MHRD has already approved funds for it's construction. It may take 5–10 years though for complete construction of the campus.
