Hi Alfiya

Faculty in IIST for Aeronautical Engineering is one of the best in the country. Their teaching quality and standards are comparable to IIT. Course curriculum is well designed and help students understand major areas of work .

Industry exposure in IIST is very good , ISRO funds this college . Companies related to space and science are proving to offer good opportunities to various students . Maximum students are placed in ISRO as scientists but you'll get more option if not ISRO.

So, you can choose IIST because teachers are really helpful and if you have potential and skills then you'll surely have a bright future ahead.

I was in a similar dilemma as yours when I was getting IIST back in 2k10. I had to gather lots of information before making a decision.

PROS:

IIST has the best of teaching staff and most of the professors are eminent scientists. So, there is unparalleled quality in education. Better than IIT-K even.

You are guaranteed an A-level scientist job from the start in ISRO which is the best grade to start with in ISRO

Hope you understand,
Thank you

Instead of going to IIT u should follow on IIST which is a best college for AE..  U check it now..

Hello Alfiya,

Sorry, but KEAM is not sufficient to get admission in IIST Thiruvananthapuram. You need to qualify JEE Advanced to get admission here. The reason is that IIST is a central government funded University. So, clearing JEE Advanced is the only way to get into the BTech program in Aerospace Engineering in IIST. You need to score at least 20% in JEE Advanced (minimum 72 marks out of 360) and have atleast 6 marks in each of the individual subjects.
Thanks and if you have more doubts ask here!

Hi Alfiya, IIST Thiruvananthapuram considers JEE (Advanced) scores for its admission and hence it is not possible to get a seat without JEE (Advanced) Exam.

All the best.
