IIT Guwahati (IITG) All Questions

It depends from Department to Department. If you are applying in IIT'B for Thermal being a ME then you will have to give a subjective test. For Ocean you will have to appear for Interview. Sometimes IIT G Conducts Tesr sometimes not but maximum  times it gives the GATE score a preference with Interview.

Congrats! on getting air 460 in gate cse 2020. The gate score cutoff in IITG generally is around 770 every year, which I think make your admission chance a little hard in Mtech CS course. About data science course. It is a very new course, it is an interdisciplinary course(offered by cse, ee, mathematics department of IITG) offered by IITG. It is started in 2019 itself. As of now there is negligible existence of its cutoff and IITG don't release cutoff officially. But most of the candidates will be choosing M.Tech CSE because it is not a new branch and offered by only core cse department. You may get into Mtech data science IITG, because its cutoff will be around 750, so you have chance of getting this branch.

The Department of Design at IIT-Guwahati offers a vibrant environment for learning, practicing and exploring several facets of design. There are well established labs and excellent faculties. The placement record is good in IIT Guwahati. Almost 85% of the students get placed every year. Companies like Oracle, Flipkart, Samsung, Accenture, TCS, Wipro etc recruit students under various job titles like Graphic Designer, Senior UX designer to UI designer. Placement is good in Structural engineering.Almost 18 students got job out of 20 in 2017–18.
This year zero placement in transportation engineering but it was good last year
Zero placement in water resource,geotech and earth systen science engineering.
In infrastructure and enviromental engineering,1 student got placed out of in 2017-18
Placement is good in Structural engineering.Almost 18 students got job out of 20 in 2017–18.

Companies like L&T, KEC, ASC Infratech etc. visits IIT guwahati for structural engineering.
Note-Placement is only good in Structural engineering but if u want to do research,
every specialisation is good at IIT guwahati.

If you consider last year cutoffs then you can get Signal Processing but chances are pretty bleak in IIT G. Sometimes a rank with 1200 gets a seat in IIT Guwahati. It happened in 2018 i think. So you can keep your hopes high.

Otherwise you can also try in Winter Session with your GATE score.

see cutoff scores changes year to year and depends on various factors , according to previous years cutoff  you have decent chances for  iit guwahati, iit roorkee ece branches,  you have decent score to qualify for interdisciplinary branches, at this score you have fare chances for nits like nit durgapur, nit bhopal, nit harimpur etc.
