Hello Aspirant! If you're from general category, with this rank it's impossible for you to get any NIT or IIIT with any branch as the cutoff for NIT's and most probably IIIT's are very high. You need to have a rank under 10000 to get one. You may get your home state NIT if you're from Haryana or Mizoram as their cutoffs are low for general category home state students as compared to other NIT's.
You can try in other state level counsellings like JAC Delhi or JAC Chandigarh as chances of getting Civil branch is moderate.

Hey

Yes you can fill gfts and iiits along with nit in the choice filling.Th e seats in the JoSAA participating institutes will be offered on the basis of merit and preference of courses and colleges filled by them during the counselling process so fill the choices accordingly. During the josaa registration, candidates will be able to check the list of participating institutes based on the score, i.e, for JEE Main 2021 qualified candidates list of NITs, IIITs, CFTIs will appear and for JEE Advanced 2021 qualified candidates, list of IITs.

With a JEE Main Rank of 42k, being from EWS, with a Category Rank of 6188, you have moderate to fair chances of securing a seat in some of the following Colleges

1. IIIT Ranchi, Kurnool, Una CSE, Dharwad AI

2. BIT Mesra Mechanical (Best Option, considering Placements, College Life, Faculty, Infrastructure, NIRF)

3. Chemical, Civil, Metallurgy at many NITs including Jaipur, Jamshedpur, IC NIT Jalandhar, Raipur, Hamirpur, Metallurgy NIT Nagpur, EC NIT Srinagar

4. EC/Electrical Top IIITs (Nagpur, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Kancheepuram)

You should definitely check prospects in your Home State NIT. For more information and College Prediction do follow the link below

Hello Aspirant. I hope you are doing good. You mentioned you belong to OBC-NCL category and that you want to know whether you have any chance to get admission to Civil Engineering at any branch of NIT or IIIT as per your JEE Main 2021 result.

Based on your performance and previous years' cutoff trend, it is less likely for you to get admission to Civil Engineering at any branch of NITs or IIITs or GFTIs.

However you have good chance to grab a seat for Civil Engineering at few Public/Government institutes (at the terminal rounds. if the seats are available) and most of the Private engineering colleges.

Government engineering colleges where you may get chance at terminal rounds are:

  1. Pondicherry Engineering College - PEC
  2. Netaji Subhas University of Technology (West Campus)

and few others...

Private engineering colleges where you may get chance are as follows:

  1. Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Technology and Management
  2. Chameli Devi Group of Institutions
  3. B.M. Institute of Engineering and Technology
  4. Mahavir Swami Institute of Technology
  5. Lakshmi Narain College of Technology and Science

and more...

Thank you.

With a EWS Rank of 20k, you wont secure a seat in any IIIT, neither at any NIT or GFTI. You should rather aim for State Engineering Counselling, if through JEE Main Scorecard, or apply to many Good Private Engineering Colleges accepting JEE Main Scorecard for Admission and Counselling.

Hi,

Anyone with a valid rank in JEE maii can participate in JOSAA Councelling . Since you have valid rank in JEE Mains, you are eligible to participate in JOSAA Councelling. However the seat allotment of JOSAA Councelling depends on factors like

  • Category of student
  • Gender of student
  • Community of student
  • Home state of student
  • Choice filled by students .

Based on these factors , the seat is allocated to students.

To know what colleges you could get, you should visit this: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp

I hope this will answer your concern.

Thanks!!!!

Hi

Your profile suggests that your home state is AP

It's quite difficult to predict because cutoff keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-

******number of students that appeared in the  jee main exam,

****** number of available seats,

****** performance of different students in the examination,

****** the category you belong etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then

>>>>>> With  33k obc  rank, and  113534 crl

You have very low chances in NITs , IIITs & GFTIs in josaa counselling .

But yes,

In csab counselling , you have chances in some of GFTIs which are listed below along with the link for their previous year cut off  :-

And more

This prediction of colleges is  based of past year data but  cut off or closing rank changes every year depending upon many factors like the number of students that give the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main  for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

You have low chances for IIITs

For example,

Closing rank for some of the IIITs for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 for sc category  :-

  • Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Dharwad, Computer Science and Engineering  :- 9297 sc rank

  • Indian Institute of Information Technology, Vadodara International Campus Diu (IIITVICD), Computer Science and Engineering:- 10040 sc rank

  • Indian Institute of Information Technology, Agartala, Computer Science and Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):- 10226 sc rank

  • Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhagalpur, Mechatronics Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) :- 11133 sc rank

You can verify the above at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

So, to get a seat in IIITs you should have got least around 10,000 - 11,000 Sc rank
