Hello Aspirant,
EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) and ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) have many similarities - many of the core electronics areas such as: digital systems, circuits, and microprocessors are courses that are similar across both programs. However, EEE has a bit of a tendency to be more focused on electrical systems and power engineering, and ECE is focused more on communication systems, signal processing and VLSI design.
In the case with IIIT Gwalior, EEE has a very strong electronics and computing focus and makes the program quite similar to an ECE program. So if you are a bit more interested in ECE related areas but have a good opportunity with EEE at a better school like IIIT Gwalior, I think its a good choice. You'll still get a chance to work in electronics and computing areas and can shape your career in ways that are related to ECE such as: embedded systems; VLSI; or communications.

With a JEE Main 2025 rank of 1,32,000 under the General female category and home state Rajasthan, your chances in top branches like CSE, IT, or ECE at MNIT Jaipur are very low, as these usually close much earlier. However, you may have a borderline chance in lower-demand branches such as Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Production Engineering at MNIT, especially in the later rounds of counselling.
For IIITs, most of the core CSE branches in top IIITs close under 40,000–60,000 ranks. But a few newer or lower-tier IIITs like IIIT Agartala, IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Manipur, or IIIT Ranchi may accept ranks close to or slightly beyond 1 lakh for non-core branches or in spot rounds. For GFTIs, you might get branches like Civil or Electrical in institutes such as Gurukula Kangri (Haridwar), University of Hyderabad, or Assam University, especially in the last rounds.
