Jadavpur University is one of the best university in India situated at Kolkata secure n i r f ranking of 12th in overall. It offers about 174 courses including BSc geology and geography honours.

Actually In their official website there are no mention of seat numbers in this college. But aproximately both two courses have about 50 seats.

Jadavpur University offers only  PG level course for mass communication admission in the institute. Thus the eligibility is set keeping the idea for PG admission in mind.

The University does not offer UG in mass communication.

You can try different universities for UG.

For geology,the aggregate is calculated as the sum of ur marks in Physics,Chem and Maths(out of 100 for each 3) in 12th boards. If you belong to general category 275/300 should assure a seat in BSc Geology course.

In case bunching of total marks in the merit list at first the marks of Mathematics at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching of marks of Mathematics at +2 level, the marks of Physics at + 2 level be considered. Again if there is a bunching of marks of Physics at + 2 level the marks of Chemistry at +2 level be considered. Even if there is a further bunching, the total marks obtained in best of 4 subjects at +2 level be considered.

It is true that Jadavpur University conducts entrance tests for students to get admitted into its UG courses, though there is a certain cutoff you need to clear to be eligible for appearing for the entrance tests.

Do check their websites for regular updates or feel free to approach Careers360 for any queries. The admission procedure is entirely online at least for registration and payment. There is huge uncertainty about its entrances test this year due to this pandemic.

The criteria for BSc. Honours in Physics in Jadavpur University is given below:

1. A candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from any recognized board in Science Stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and must have secured at least 75% marks in average obtained in the three mentioned subjects.
2. In case of OBC-A or OBC-B categories, a minimum requirement of 67.5% marks in average must be obtained in the three above-mentioned subjects.
3. In case of SC,ST,PD, or Sports category, a minimum requirement of 56.25% marks in average must be obtained in the three above-mentioned subjects. The minimum disability in case of the PD candidates is 40%.
