Hey,

With the cut of 194 for ECE, you cannot get into Anna University, Chennai campus but Tiruchirapally campus is having lower cut offs. So, you can get into it. You are also capable of securing a seat in MIT with ECE branch.

If someone crosses the cut off of TNEA counselling, it means that he/she is eligibile to apply for the counselling, and it has nothing to do with free seat. Getting concession in seats depends on the college you choose. Many colleges offer concession and scholarship based on your score in 10+2. About 153 colleges which are affiliated to Anna university participate in the counselling and you can choose your colleges based on your rank.

Anna University takes intakes for its masters through TANCET or will exempt you if you have qualified GATE. The threshold marks are totally dependent upon the GATE cutoff. The average marks are around 40-50 out of 100 would be a good score if you are applying from home state. If you are applying from other state 50-55 out of 100 will be a decent score.
