Anna University, Chennai All Questions

Hi Ashwin,

The UG admission is based on how many marks you secured in your intermediate (+2) exams. If you could manage good marks then there are lot many chances to get a seat in Anna University Campus itself.

If you are the guy from another state other than TamilNadu, then there are few seats for the other state students, so you should be on TOP of the list to get admission into a good college or Anna University.

The placement at Anna University is good even I found Facebook was recruiting UG students from CSC branch.

If you wanna join Anna University for Masters then there are two ways to get a seat. first one is through your GATE score and the second one is TANCET.

If your admission is through GATE then you are eligible for scholarship and if your admission is through TANCET then you are not eligible for the scholarship.

But for PG guys the placements are not so good, and if you are lucky enough then you can get the job in any service based company like TCS, WIPRO & Infosys.

Believe me, guys in Anna University you can learn a lot. The life at AU is cheerful and enjoyable.

The application form for anna university are released and it is an online procedure so please stay updated on that.

Moreover if you are non tamil nadu student you will have to attend the Tamil Nadu Engineering admission which is conducted every year to facilitate admission and the seat is assigned according to the quota assigned to other states in various branches. No entrance test is required.

Eligibility Criteria - Will be announced a short while after your exams are over(May or June at max), on the Anna University website. But a general guideline is both CBSE & State Board students must have scored over 50% in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. But these change every year, make sure you are updated(i.e Check Home - Anna University )

Admission Forms: Forms are issued sometime in May or June(It can change, stay updated You can obtain it online( Home - Anna University , also this maybe free) or get a physical copy(for 500 RS) in a few institutions namely

• College Of Engineering Guindy
• Madras Institute of Technology
• The Government Polytechnic College

The admission to Anna University is done through TNEA which stands for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Entrance Exam. 

The form i.e. the online application if for the registration/application to this exam.

Anna University intake students from a common entrance exam TNEA , they don't offer admissions on the basis of class 12 score.
