Many answers above have very well summarized the points on which distinction can be made. But the most important difference according to me is that of culture. Culture in BITS is simply amazing with a hell lot of opportunities for personal growth. Also, the level of fests and campus life which BITS offers is pretty unique and difficult to get at NIT TRICHY. So if you have the resources BITS can be ur first preference. Also an important thing considering the ever important question of Placements. At BITS most of the companies would you treat u at par with IITs( I know of Bosch, GE because of my background) which I don't believe can be the case with NIT TRICHY.
Both NITs and BITS have quality infrastructure because they are one of the world's prestigious technology institutes. However, BITS might have a slight edge as it is better equipped to meet the growing demands of students. BITS is also well staffed because the number of students are less in comparison to NITs.
Nevertheless both institutions are good it depends on you what you wanted to prefer.

You have not mention the exam name. Without knowing the exam name it is quite to tell which Bits you may get at this rank. Exam name is important to mention so we tell the correct information. I think you are talking about BITSAT. According to the previous year cutoff you have chances to get Bits with CSE branch.

BITSAT counselling results of 2020 are released in the form of iterations. BITSAT result of iteration consists of admit and wait list. Those candidates who will be listed in the admit list will be allotted seats into the participating institutes while the wait list candidates have to check their BITSAT allotment status in the next iteration round. After each round of iteration, candidates can take the course or branch offered or they can go for the next round of  iteration. Those candidates who are not allotted but have a chance in the future counselling rounds are listed out in the wait list. There is a higher probability of allotment to these candidates in the next round .All of the selected candidates will have to confirm their allotment by depositing the fees within the timeline specified by the authorities. The students in the waitlist will have to make a fee payment to participate in the next rounds of iterations.

NO, I think there is no second semester admits in bits pilani this year. Lateral admission are rare and i think there is no plan for this in current year.

BITS stands for Birla Institute of Technology and Science, and it has three branches in Hyderabad, Goa and Dubai, named as BITS Hyderabad, BITS Goa, and BITS Dubai with the main center at Pilani called as BITS PILANI. The admission in BITS is done on the basis of its official Entrance Exam- BITSAT held once each year.

As per my knowledge after comparing these two colleges BITS  pilani ,pilani Campus and IIT tirupati with civil branch. I will give you advice to choose IIT tirupati as its placement, infrastructure, faculty is better .
The average salary in IIT tirupati with civil branch is 9.8 LPA.
The total fees in IIT tirupati for civil engineering is 8.32 lakh .

The criteria for Bits is-

• Candidate should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
• Candidates should have passed 10+2 exam from a recognized central or state board or its equivalent.
• Candidate should have minimum 60% each in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.

As per your query it is a waste of your time and efforts to prepare for the bits exam if you don not meet the basic criteria to sit in the exam. There is no change  in this criteria.

There are two perspectives to it. The first is the branch and the second is college. NIT Allahabad is a much better college than BITS Hyderabad. There is almost no comparison between them. And second is a branch, which is your passion.

If your passion is to pursue engineering in CSE, then try for some other NITs. I hope you will get some new NITs. In case you don't get any NITs, then you can go with BITS Hyderabad.

But, if the branch is not a restriction for you, I will suggest you go for Electrical in NIT Allahabad as it is one of the country's finest engineering colleges, and placement is also excellent. In contrast, Electrical is a core branch of engineering and has no fewer opportunities than CSE.
