Hello Aspirant,

According to the rank and category mentioned by you in the question you have good chances of getting IIT Indore but only with Electrical Branch according to previous year's cut-off and for IIT Roorkee you cannot get any of the preferred branches. As we go through previous year's cut-off then it shows that last year the closing rank for Electrical branch in IIT Roorkee was 1856 for General category Male and for Electrical branch in IIT Indore it was 3635 for General category Male.

You can check out previous year's cut-offs for IIT Indore and Roorkee from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-cutoff-for-iit-indore

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-cutoff-for-iit-roorkee

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use JEE-Advance College Predictor:-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

Since mechanical branch is famous in Roorkee but not in Guwahati, so I strongly suggest you to choose mechanical in IIT Roorkee and not in Guwahati. If your rank is coming under opening and closing ranks for cs in Guwahati then fill that.

I would not suggest iit mandi because of 2 reasons:

1) CS is not that good in those colleges and package is almost average to low rank nits.

2) Since it rank less than iit Guwahati.

Hello,

First let's talk about the difference in campuses in IIT Delhi and Roorkee respectively.

Both IITs provide excellent faculty, infrastructure and transportation facilities thus weighing one over the other would be unfair. But if I go with rankings then IIT Delhi would be the better option since it provides a lot more support for budding researchers and has better placement records than Roorkee campus.

So for a B.Tech or M.Tech degree, go for IIT Delhi.

Hope this helps.

Hello student,

62 percentile is a low one to get seat in nit or iiit colleges. You have not mentioned any reservations or category. But irrespective of the reservation or any quota like home state quota, you will not be getting any nits or iiits.

I suggest you to apply for state colleges or any other private institutions. There are pretty many good private institutions where you can apply, write the entrance test and get through.

Here are few good private institutions

1. Ssn college in chennai

2. Amrita institution in coimbatore

3. Psg college of engineering in coimbatore

4, cbit college in Hyderabad

5. Vasavi college

6. Sastra deemed to be a university in thanjavur

Here is the link for the previous year ranking from that you can understand,

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-advanced-cutoff-for-iit-rookee

Thank You.

Hello,

Production and Industrial engineering at IIT Roorkee has been one of the most promising branches in recent years with over 90% placement record.
Its not that candidates are getting just because of the IIT tag but because of the curriculum quite alluring to the recruiters and the average package ranges around 15 LPA.

I hope this helps.

Hi Sudheer,

Frankly I'm not sure how to answer your question, when you are asking to compare two entirely different fields of education, viz. Management and Science. If you could provide a little more information about, on what parameters you want to compare them, like placement, future job descriptions, etc. then I might be able to help you.
