With a percentile of 93.96, there is no chance of getting NIT or IIT. However, a more accurate answer would have given if you would have mentioned your son's domicile state.

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing great.

As per your question, You will be getting IIIT Kanchipuram and NIT Puducherry, after completing the JEE Mains exam and scoring good percentile in it. To get these universities and that too in CSE branch, you need to score a percentile between 96 to 99.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Based on your son's percentile and category, it would be difficult to get admission into NITs and IIITs.

However, he could get admission into some GFTIs, like Birla Institute of Technology (both Ranchi and Mesra), Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, Bhadohi, National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management, Thanjavur, etc.

If you want to check more govt. colleges and GFTIs that the student is take admission into based on JoAAA counselling or other state and university level counselling, then you can take help form the Careers360 JEE college predictor: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?

Admissions to IIITs can vary slightly depending on the specific IIIT you are interested in. Generally, admission to IIITs is primarily through the JEE Main exam conducted by NTA.

While JEE is the primary route for the admission to IIITs, some IIITs might also have their own entrance exam or consider other national - level exams like the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for specific postgraduate programs.

It's essential to keep an eye on the official website of IIITs you're interested in for any updates or changes in their admission procedures. Additionally, regularly checking the official notifications and announcements from the NTA and JOSAA will ensure you have the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the admission process.

Hello aspirant,

Honestly, 54 percentile score in JEE Mains is too low to get into any NIT or IIT irrespective of which caste or class you belongs to. Jee mains is a very tough exam and the cutoff of IIT and NIT went to 99 percentile. So I suggest you to bounce back, prepare hard and try your best next year.

Thank you

Hope this information helps you.

Hello

Based on you JEE Main overall percentile, your rank could be between 108483 - 121900 approximately.

The National Testing Agency conducts JEE and releases the rank and percentile information after considering all the data and performing normalization.

With this rank your chances of getting into NIT's, IITs and GFTIs is very less. However you have chance to give a second attempt a chance and try to score better.

Eventhough you cannot get into any IITs,  NITs, and  GFTIs your score is accepted by many state level Government and private engineering colleges.

You can predict the colleges you are eligible for using the below link.

Hii There,

Based on the information provided, gaining admission to NITs and IIITs may pose a challenge. However, you have the option to participate in state counseling processes where your percentile could potentially secure you admission to engineering colleges.

I hope this answers our question.

Based on your percentile, it will be difficult to get through in IIITs or any other college for that matter through the JoSAA counselling. However, you do have the option of getting into colleges through state counselling and university counselling. Talking about state counselling, for example, if you want to get admission into colleges in the south, then you can apply in the Maharashtra state counselling and open your options of getting several colleges that come under it, like Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, Mumbai, Thakur College of Engineering and Technology, Mumbai, Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Pune, and many more.

I also suggest that you sit for the second attempt of JEE Mains since you will get a chance to improve your score.

Hello student,

On the basis of the details that you shared, keeping into consideration both your percentile and category, getting into NITs and IIITs will be tough. You have the alternate of appearing for different state counselling where you have chances to get admission into engineering colleges at your percentile.

For example, if you applied for the WBJEE, which is West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, a state level engineering admission exam, then you could get admission into many colleges, such as Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology, Kolkata, Netaji Subhash Engineering College, Garia, Techno International New Town, Kolkata, etc.

I also suggest that you give the JEE April session exam to improve your score and get chances of getting into better colleges like NITs or IIITs.
