UPES B.Tech Admissions 2026
ApplyRanked #43 among Engineering colleges in India by NIRF | Highest Package 1.3 CR , 100% Placements
Hi,
At this percentile it is difficult to get seat in nit or iiit through jossa counselling. The cutoff of nits and iiits go high every year. You can try out for newly built nits and iiit to get admission. Also participate in the state counselling to get admission in the government engineering colleges.
You can check out the jee main College predictor link of which is given below.

Hope it helps.
Hi aspirant, since you have got 13340 rank in JEE mains exam also you belong to ST category so based on that you can get into NIT for sure chances for IIIT is very less.
For branch perspective chances for you to get into CSE branch is somehow very less. So better option could be to go with IT if you have decided for CSE earlier.
Thank You.
Hi
Your profile suggests that your home state is Telangana
It's quite difficult to predict because cutoff keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-
******number of students that appeared in the jee main exam,
****** number of available seats,
****** performance of different students in the examination,
****** the category you belong etc.
But yes,
When we go through previous year trend then
>>>>> with 4520 st rank
You have low chance in NITs.
For example,
Under other state quota , closing rank for some of the lower nits for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 for st category :-
NIT Mizoram ,civil engineering :- 2975 st rank
Nit nagaland ,Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering :- 3086 st rank
National Institute of Technology Agartala, Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering:- 3521 st rank
You can check the same at
https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
From above , it is clear that you need at least a rank of around 3500 st rank to get into an NIT .
But yes,
You have good chances in IIITs which are listed below along with their closing rank in 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 under other state/ all india quota :-
----------)Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Kilohrad, Sonepat, Haryana:- IT :- 4795 st rank
----------)Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT) Una, Himachal Pradesh:-Electronics and Communication Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology):-5872 st rank
----------)Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhopal, ECE :-5641 ST rank
----------)Indian Institute of Information Technology, Agartala, computer science:-5360 st rank
This prediction of colleges is based of past year data but cut off or closing rank changes every year depending upon many factors like the number of students that give the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main for different shifts etc so

Hi,
Hope you are doing well.
NIT Trichy is among the top NITs in India. It is also among the highly ranked NIT in India. IIIT Kancheepuram is newly established IIIT. It doesn't have that much developed Campus as NIT Trichy has. The Average package of NIT Trichy is around 10 Lakh while the average package at IIIt Kancheepuram was around 9 Lakh for CSE. Nearly 90% student got placed in NIT Trichy while IIIT Kancheepuram has around 70-80% placement records. After looking at various factors like placement , campus, reputation ECE in NIT Trichy seems to be better choice than IIIT Kancheepuram.
I hope this will answer your query.
Thanks!!!!!!
Hello there,
As you are confused between two branches and colleges, to clarify this. make your preferred branch first which helps in choosing the college easily. If you are looking for a job in IT Companies then go for Computer science at Jabalpur or interested in ECE go for it. You are waiting for my suggestion I would suggest you to go for CSE in IIIT Jabalpur. At last decision is yours.

Hi,
The seat allotment of IIITs Depends on factors like Community, Category, Gender. It is very difficult to predict which college you could get as cutoff changes every year. But if we see in 2020, the EWS rank of last student in gender neutral category was 6705 in IIIT Nagpur. While in IIIT Sricity, the EWS rank of last admitted student was 6551.
So based on these cutoff and your EWS, your chances of getting into these institutions is very less. To know about what colleges you could get with your JEE Mains rank, visit here: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp
I hope this will help.
Good luck and Thanks!!!!!
Hello aspirant,
You need to check the eligibility criteria about NRI/PIO/OCI holder on JOSAA counselling official website

PIO/ OCI candidates will be considered as General (GEN) or GEN-PwD (persons with disabilities) and seat allotted to them are OPEN or OPEN-PwD.....
