Hello,
This is one of the most common confusion in any aspirants minds. College vs College. The college as such does not has a lot of effect on your further career. But it does provide a head start.
The college best suitable for you depends on a lot of factors like the distance from your home, career opportunities, academic environment, etc. I can assure you in all these departments IIIT-H will get the better of NIT AP. IIIT Hyderabad is one of the best institutes for the study of CSE and ECE apart from some older IITs. It provides you ample opportunities to hone your skills in coding and industry practices. While its academic fees are a bit on the higher side but it is totally worth it. Thus, in my opinion, if you are determined to take CSE or ECE and your two options are these colleges, go for IIIT Hyderabad.
Hello,
Let's just be clear on one thing. It may be harsh for you but I would advise you to not hope for IIIT Hyderabad with your CRL rank way out of its cutoff trends. CSE is the most in-demand branch for engineering in India. While you haven't mentioned if you are eligible for female only quota or not. I am gonna answer it keeping in view only gender-neutral seats.
Your chances for IIIT CSE is not very bright. While established IIITs like Bengaluru, Allahabad, Hyderabad, and Delhi are certainy not achievable. You have slightest of chances in IIITs which were established in 2013 and 2016. You would certainly like to check cutoffs of the previous year for IIITs like Nagpur, Lucknow, Una, Kottayam, Kalyani, Sri City, and Agartala(the list is non-exhaustive). The chances of getting CSE is very less through JoSAA due to its high demand among aspirants.
PS: You can definitely get one of those IIITs in the special round though. (Just check the cutoff on the internet). The closing rank goes till 70k to 80k in these new IIITs in CSAB round. But leave your other options open too.
Thanks.
Hello,
Since the first round of IIIT-H counselling has been declared. It is definitely the right time for asking this question. IIITH counselling happens in 4 different rounds. The demand for CS branch is traditionally high in IIIT Hyderabad due to its high packages and unique environment. As the first round closed in 573 rank.
Your rank is still around 300 above the cutoff for the first round. While the closing rank definitely goes down as further rounds continue and some other results get declared. Predicting further rounds is indeed difficult due to a changed ranking pattern of JEE this year. I won't give you false hopes though, your chance of getting CSE in IIITH moderate. We cannot exactly predict what happens in counselling but as seen from previous year trends the drop in marks is 15-20 until round 4 (in 2018 it dropped from 287 marks to 256 marks). Thus, considering trends, the rank will come down around 850-900. It's possible, yet difficult if the closing rank will come further low. While you still have a bleak chance getting CSE but don't just hang on it.
Hello,
The result of the first round of counselling has come. You can clearly see the closing rank of the first round for both the branches is even less than 600. Even considering the previous year trends, the seats get full even before the closing rank goes over 1000. So it will be very far fetched to hope for a seat in IIIT Hyderabad with this Mains rank.
But considering this is your general rank, you still can hope for a decent/low branch in Tier-I NITs and definitely a decent branch in Tier-II NITs. And I am not even considering your category or Home State Eligibility. All the Best.
Hello,
While I have full sympathy with you but at the risk of sounding rude, I must tell you, you have no chance in IIIT Hyderabad with 85 percentile in JEE. The first round counselling of IIIT-H has been completed and closing percentile was around 99.5. You can clearly see, it's not coming down that much. I wish you have gone for UGEE to gain entry in the Dual Degree programme of IIIT Hyderabad. That's the only other way to get IIIT Hyderabad now. You should most certainly look for states colleges accepting Mains marks.
Regards.
Hello Shekhar,
Before anything could be said about what colleges you can get on the
basis of your score in JEE, you should know that it would be too early
to predict anything. The cut off trends tend to change every year and
same can be expected for this year as well. However, for your given
score, you have a feeble chance to get into a good college, including those you mentioned in the question. But you can
try the college predictor for further information about colleges, and
about the chances of admission in your desired college:

hy Aditya,
you got great marks 99.93 . The seats in any IITs and NITs mainly depend on the marks you score in the jee exams . wish you luck
Hello dear,
According to your rank in jee mains you have very less chance to get seat in computer science engineering or information technology in IIIT HYDERABAD as your rank is bit high for this college.
Hello
Sorry to say that u cannot get IIIT hyd cse or ece as the cutoffs are 99+
97.99 is a decent percentile
Anyway u can try nits or iiits all the best
Hello Student,
As per previous year experience of JoSAA the cut off ranks for IIIT hyderabad goes very high.
And your percentile is not that well.
I am sorry to say but this percentile will not take you to IIIT Hyderabad.
Moreover, there is no chance for any IIIT or NIT if you belong to open category.
What you can do is search some other institutes on basis of Jee Score here:

Hope this will help.
Feel free to ask any doubts.
IIIT Hyderabad has a modern, urban campus with compact yet efficient infrastructure. Classrooms are equipped with smart teaching tools and comfortable seating. Labs are cutting-edge, especially in AI, robotics, and data science. The library is well-stocked with physical and digital resources. Hostels, sports grounds, and common areas are well-maintained.
The infrastructure is pretty good. They have good classrooms and really good facilities at the lab. The college has a great research culture, with a huge chunk of money being invested in research labs. The Wi-Fi facilities are not that good, and the network is not that good. Also, all classrooms are not air-conditioned. The hostels are also pretty good. But there's one issue with hostels, which is drinking water. It has happened many times that drinkable water is not available on many floors. Also, the lift does not work properly and gets stuck many times.
The infrastructure is amazing. We have spacious classrooms. Laboratory is well-maintained. Sports facilities are also good. LAN is also provided in every classroom. It provides a good library. Our campus is Wi-Fi-enabled. Canteen facility is also good.
