Hello Student, 

As per admissions criteria of JoSAA a candidate need to have at least 75 percent aggregate in 12th boards or may be under top 20 percentile of boards.
As your 12th score is not satisfying the eligibility criteria, I am sorry to say that you can not get IIIts or NITs.

Hi Narun!!! Congratulations on your score and I would like to inform you that if you truly want only CSE then you can wait for round 4 after checking previous year cutoffs and become sure that you'll end up getting CSE else you should go with ECE and flourish.

                 IIIT HYDERABAD offers only two courses (CSE AND EC)  for applicants applying through jee mains score.

             Cut off is usually high due to limited no. of seats but for your rank and category yes you might get CSE in IIIT HYDERABAD.

First of all both of these excellent institutions.

But the course at the IIIT Hyderabad is more reputed than the same one at a less prominent IIT/New IITs.This is mainly due to shortage of faculty and absence of infrastructure in new IITs like IIT-TP.

Faculty shortage is a problem that all the IITs are currently dealing with butbtut  will surely hit the new IITs example IIT Thirupati.

Even  recruiters say if there is a pecking order then they would prefer to go to the older, more established IITs, than the NITs/IIITs and then the new IITs.

Most of the top recruiters flock to these premium institutions year after year, many of them avoid the new ones.

As of now, the old institutes do have an upper hand when compared to the newer IITs(IIT-TP in your case) but the result will be different in the near future.

And I will conclude with if you want to pursue any course now then go with IIIT-Hyderabad over IIT-TP as it is one of the blue-ribbon institute of the nation.

With your mentioned rank it is highly unlikely for you to get into NITs or IIITs. You could still apply for the josaa counselling process and try your luck. But I would suggest you to try for state level engineering colleges which accept JEE main scores. You could get good colleges and your desired branch. It will all depend on your marks.

Last year, the cutoff for CSE was 256 marks.

In 2017, it was 268 marks.

In 2016, it was 256 marks.

In 2015, it was 257 marks.

So, if you have scored 250+, you have a very good chance of selection.

Seeing your score and previous year cuttoff of IIIT HYDERABAD,you seems to have chance of getting CSE in it as your rank is close to closing rank of IIIT HYDERABAD for CSE STREAM.Marks should be more than 268 for CSE.You seems to have chance for CSE.For sureity wait till official cuttoff get announce.
