For Jadavpur University you need rank under 300 as we all know that seats are very limited and admission is directly based on merit rank.

Indian Institute of Management have set criteria for calling candidates for Interview round to which 10th, 12th and Graduation marks contribute. The AR is very crucial for overall CAT score, which is calculated through 0.5*(10th marks) + 1.5*(12th marks) + 2.5*(Graduation marks). [for IIM Ahmadabad]

In your case, you need to score at least 99.5+ percentile in CAT written examination to be called for esteemed and old IIMs'.

Later to which, you will be facing WAP and Personal Interview round, and if you excel in all rounds, your admission would be successful.

Jadavpur University is one of the best colleges for persuing engineering so there is tough competition for getting into this college. CSE is the most popular branch here and the seats filled very fast. The cutoffs for other state students are higher. So if you want CSE, then you will have to get a rank within 400 ranks as you belong to OBC Category.

see the eligibility criteria to apply for geological sciences in jadavpur university is

Candidates must  passed 10+2 Examination from any recognized education Board in Science with Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and securing at least 75% marks in average obtained in Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics are eligible to apply.

however other state candidates need to apply as a general candidate and can not get the benefits of caste category, only candidates with specific caste category of west bengal are eligible to apply .

I don't personally know about these colleges but based on NIRF ranking and student reviews you can find that Jadavpur University is better than IIEST Shibpur . It doesn't mean IIEST Shibpur is not good , IIEST Shibpur is also an excellent college .

Here I am mentioning some points :-

1. Jadavpur University NIRF ranking is 14 whereas IIEST Shibpur NIRF ranking is 19 .
2. You can see in careers360 students reviews Jadavpur rating is more than IIEST .
3. In terms of campus IIEST Shibpur has slight bigger campus area than Jadavpur University.

The cut-off marks for this year cannot be told since it depends on factors like difficulty of the paper and the number of students appearing for the exam. But analysing the previous year data, we can make an idea of this year's cut-off.
For Geological Science, the previous year data is as follows:

For WB Board, the cut-off marks was-
236 in the year 2018, and,
244 in the year 2019.

For Other Boards, the cut-off marks was-
241 in the year 2018,and,
251 in the year 2019.
This is for OBC-B category in Jadavpur University.
You need to score 260+ marks to be on the safe side.

Dear,

Talking about the gym, the department is open to students of all the faculties and staffs. Anyone can go and enroll them and start working out. There is also an instructor who can help you according to your requirements. If you are talking about the hostel mess then only lunch and dinner is provided by the college for which we pay the mess fees. There are other canteens where we can have a great time with our friends, but the food is paid.

The speed of the wifi is not been clearly on the portal but surely it has a good wifi connection.

Apart from wifi jadavapur university do have other facility as well like cafeteria, gyms, common rooms, auditorium etc.

To get into jadavapur you have ckear wbjee with a very good rank under 1k .

If you want top branch then try to come under 500.

No you cannot get admission in Jadavapur University if you did not passed your 10+2 from science stream. For reading B.Sc. the basic eligibility criteria is the candidate should be of science background. Even this is the eligibility criteria of Jadavapur university too. For more details about B.Sc. Hostel rooms are shared by 4 students in the main campus of Jadavpur University  means same room is alloted to other 3 students and it is the rule of hostel of main campus of Jadavpur University. However, you can get hostel or PG outside the campus in any manner you want (single, double or triple sharing)
