Jadavpur University is a public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal. The college take the admission on the merit list based.
The basic eligibility for the admission is 10+2 in science with physics, chemistry,Biology and English.

As per the 2019 cut -offs are-
The minimum cut off for the B.sc physics
1. General -380
2. Sc-350
3.OBC has two categories for A it has 342 and for the B category it is 365.

Kolkata's Jadavpur University is ranked as the best government engineering college in the country. The placements of the

Jadavpur University. Ranks higher than Presidency in terms of being an University. So the degree holds greater value.

Presidency is still a comparatively new University.

I would Suggest you to go for Jadavpur University.

wbjeeb is the entrance exam conducts by west bengal joint entrance board. the exam total marks is 200, as you know that jadavpur university is one of the prominent institute in india, its quite have less chances to get any engineering stream in ju with 90 marks in wbjeeb. through every year cutoff score changes and depends on various factors. 160+ score out of 200 have a decent chancesto get a seat in engineering branches of ju.

The admission in Jadavpur University, Kolkata is based on merit in WBJEE and the admission is based on merit in WBJEE. WBJEE is an entrance for admission in various Undergraduate course in the institutes of West Bengal.Jadavpur University doesn't accept JEE main score.And to be able to get admission in Jadavpur University or any other government college in West Bengal through West Bengal candidate must be hold the domicile of West Bengal or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal with a permanent address.So, even if you appear for WBJEE you are not eligible to get admission in Jadavpur University, Kolkata as you are not a resident of West Bengal.

To get admission in Jadavpur University for bsc in physics,  chemistry,  mathematics you need to have minimum 75% in your 10+2 or equivalent examination.  But as every year record says most of the seats of physics and mathematics are full with 90 to 95% percentile.

Actually there is no particular entrance examination for the bsc in physics,  chemistry and mathematics courses.

As per WBJEE Cutoff 2019 the closing rank of least popular branch in Jadhavpur University, Kolkata was 8066.And popular branches like Computer Science Engineering was 456 so if you want get admission in any of the least popular branch you must get a rank under 8000 and for that you cant it by 30 marks..Your marks should be near 100 minimum.
So, unfortunately you can't get a seat in Jadhavpur University.

Hello student moment after WBJEE results declared you might get an overview that if you're getting admission in Jadavpur University on the basis of marks/rank you obtained in WBJEE.
After that counselling starts for WBJEE in the fourth week of June for which you need to register and pay the counselling fees.
After that you need to fill your choice of college.

To get admission in Jadavpur university you need to appear for WBJEE.The admission is based on merit in WBJEE.The eligibility criteria is that

• a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology?computer science with atleast 45% aggregate for general category candidates, for reserved candidates it is 30% aggregate  from a recognised central board or state board.
• Candidate must be a resident of West Bengal for 10 subsequent years or their parents must be a resident of West Bengal with a permanent residence address.
• Upper age limit is 25 years, lower age is 17 years as on December 31, 2020.

So if you fulfill the above eligibility criteria you are eligible to get admission in Jadavpur University.

Mahuya, the admission procedure at Jadavpur University is different for different courses. For admission to B.Sc (Honours) courses, the merit list is prepared according to marks obtained in the Higher Secondary Examination or any equivalent examination and the admission is strictly done on the basis of these marks only. There is no admission test conducted for admission to B.Sc(Honours) courses such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics,Geography in Jadavpur University. The interested students can apply for the admission to UG courses by filling the application form for Jadavpur University by selecting their courses and then the further process is notified by the authorities on the official website. In your case, after submitting the application form and the credentials for preparing the merit list, the University prepares a merit list which is notified on the official website and after this selection procedure, the authorities call the selected students for Interview to get admission to B.Sc(H) courses.
