Hello Pratik, NIT durgapur lacks infrastructural facilities and Jadavpur University lacks hostel facility. IIT Kharagpur has more advantages than all the remaining ones. IIEST shibpur is better for people opting research, placement wise NIT durgapur is better than IIEST but not better than IIT. The atmosphere at Jadavpur University is not so good, IIEST shibpur has good enivorment. So the order of preference is IIT kharagpur > NIT Durgapur > IIEST Shibpur > Jadhav university.

The ratings you asked for would be -

IIT Kharagpur- 9

NIT Durgapur- 8

IIEST Shibpur-7

Jadhav University -6

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

Hello,

There is no denial that NIT Durgapur is not a good colleges of course it is because it is one of the NITs.
But if you have the privileges to drop and you and your family are okay with this decision and also if you are 100% sure and you have confidence on yourself that you will get into the IITs that next time then you can opt to drop but if you are not sure then i would say don't take a risk.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

If you want to get admission in Jadhavpur University you will have to appear in WBJEE. JU treats candidate of West Bengal and other states equally when it comes to the entrance exam and admission.
JU is one of the best colleges for persuing engineering so there is tough competition for getting into the colleges.CSE is the most popular branch there and if you want that branch then you will have to get a rank inside 100 ranks. And for ECE you will have to get under 200 ranks.

You can check cutoff of past years from the link below.

I hope this helps.

Student Reviews for Jadavpur University, Kolkata

College Infrastructure: 3.9/5
Academics: 4.3/5
Placements: 4.3/5
Value for Money: 3.4/5
Campus Life: 4.5/5

An honest review of Jadavpur University.

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

A bit underwhelming due to inadequate funding. Basic labs found in first year are not upto the mark. However when it comes to equipments, toh would probably all of them except half of them are obsolete from industry pov.

It is going quite good yet.

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

The Jadavpur University has quite old buildings. But, it has a central library with separate libraries in each department. It has 4-5 canteens at different points in the campus. It also has an Open air theatre, A gym, and a basketball court adjacent to the main ground.

My experience at Jadavpur University was great.

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

The university still uses alot of buildings that are way too old and they are maintained very rarely. But, few new buildings have been built recently which is a good thing. There is a lack of adequate labs for example in my department (Economics) there is no sufficient facility. There is also lack of ACs in the classrooms.
