JD Birla Institute was established in the year 1963 in Kolkata, West Bengal. The Institute is associated with Jadavpur University and is authorized by NAAC. The foundation offers B.Sc (Honors) and B.Com with 40 and 250 seats separately at the UG level. PG program incorporates M.Sc, M.Com, and PG Diploma in Dietetic and Applied with 10, 30 and 15 seats separately.

Mtech without GATE is a 3 year course while after GATE it is a 2 year course.
Almost every top company which goes to IIT came here with very few exception.
as far as placement are concerned you will be allowed to sit in each of these company. In most of the companies like Microsoft, Amazon etc, there is no percentage criteria.

So for placement in core companies you will have to be very good at coding + knowledge and it is not easy. but in an average company there will be 100% placement.

5 year integrated course in Jadavpur University is good. And if you want to take your gate exam then ofcourse you can if you are in 5 year integrated course at Jadavpur University. But you can apply only when you are in fourth year or higher during your course. Gate is a exam you can give lifetime.

Hey Sankalan! Jadavpur University is a State University which was established in the year 1955 and is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. The University is approved by UGC, AICTE, NCTE, and COA. It is also accredited with “Grade A” by NAAC. Jadavpur University courses are offered through its Departments and Affiliated Colleges. The college has good placements but i can't tell about particularly mechanical branch. Hope this may help you.

Coming to your question I would like to tell you that once you take admission in the college you pay nearly ₹3,000 which include the mess , rent and the electricity bill  and generally it is availed before the commencement of the classes if you had register for it at the time of the admission ,

Sorry you can not get any seat in any of the branches at Jadhavpur University in decentralized counselling. According to previous year cutoffs a student with general merit rank 6000 can get a rank in the spot counselling. And the least cutoff goes till 6800 and that too for Pharmacy.
