Both colleges have equal preference and approximately same cut-off.

But as far placement is concerned NIT PATNA is better.

NIT Patna provides well equipped labs for ECE department as NIT Patna is an older NIT.
In NIT Patna, placement record is excellent for ECE Department. Students from the department have been regularly recruited by public sectors and MNC companies with high package. The faculty members of NIT Patna are also great.

On the contrary, NIT AP is newer NIT so many people tries to ignore it. But it is excellent for academics as well as cultural criterion. It has well dedicated faculties. The study environment of NIT AP is awesome and technical support also very good.

The choice completely depends on you. Take the path what your heart says to you!

Well,both colleges are best at their place.
Still I'm mentioning here some important points about both these colleges.
But which branch to choose between CSE and IT,is completely depends on you.

NIT Patna was ranked 92nd among engineering colleges in India by the NIRF.The devoted faculty members of NIT Patna is the great asset of institution.
NIT Patna provides facilities like central library,computer centre,Medical Center, Cricket/Football ground,etc.And also provide well equipped labs for CSE department.
In NIT Patna,placement record is illustrious for CSE Department. Students from the department have been regularly recruited by several public sector and MNC companies with high package.

IIEST shibpur  was ranked 21st by NIRF in 2020
It has best record for all the departments.
IT department prestigious here.

Hi,
The placements in ece branch in nit patna is good but the best placements are from cse.
In 2018 the average package for ece was 8LPA and companies like Amazon , wipro , oracle , ola , snapdeal , TCS , aditya birla group visit the college campus for placements.
And in 2019 the average package have increased and reaches 9LPA and the average package of the college was 7LPA.

Both the colleges are good as per infrastructure and facilities. ECE is good at both the colleges. But I am differing them on the basis of placements in ECE branch.

Nit Agartla: Infosys, IBM, Amazon, Tata Motors, Capgemini, Axis Bank, Tech Mahindra these are top recruiters. Highest package for last year was around 17.5 lakhs whereas average salary package is nearly 5.5 lakhs per annum.

NIT Patna : Highest package for last year was around 15 lakhs whereas the average salary package ranges between 3-4 lakhs per annum.

As you have secured 1072 rank from ews category in jee mains, then getting any nits in b.arch is quite difficult or impossible.
Because for getting a sure seat in any nits in b.arch from ews category you must secure atleast under 600 ews rank, then only you will get b.arch in any nit. Also you will not get nit patna with you home state quota.
Also, as per seeing the rate on increment of cutoff of b.arch this year you will not get nit patna this year.

This year the highest closing ranks for round 3 home state candidate in nit patna for b.arch is - 434 ( for gender neutral).

And, this year the highest closing ranks for round 4 home state candidate in nit patna for b.arch is - 464 ( for gender neutral )

So, as you can see the rate of increment of cutoff is very less, and definitely you will not get b.arch this year in nit patna.

But as per seeing last year cutoff trends, there is chance for getting nit patna ( last year the highest cutoff closing rank for b.arch for ews category was - 1205).
But the cutoff changes every year, and by seeing the rate of increment of cutoff for this year, the chances are negligible for you to get nit patna till last round of josaa counseling.

Now there is a chance of getting architecture in csab special round counseling, as per seeing the last year cutoff closing ranks.
Now as you have secured 1072 ews rank in jee mains paper 2 then your Crl rank must be around 10000.
And last year the cutoff closing ranks for ews category home state candidates, in architecture course on the basis of their Crl ranks was - 185775 ( for gender neutral ).

If you belong to Bihar and have a domicile of Bihar then you can apply through Home state.According to your rank obtained there seems less chances of yours to get a seat in NIT Patna as the rank you obtained does not comes under the closing rank required to get a seat when compared with previous year closing rank.

Yes every NIT as well as NIT Patna offers internships in 3rd year and 4th year of btech while studying. Top recruiters like Wipro, Adani Power Limited, Infosys have continuously visite the college . About 30 percent of eligible students get internship. SDOs and JEs in BSEB are even offered to many of the students.

Archana Bharti , From some research on internet I found that NIT Patna for ECE is good because both colleges fees is approx. same and placement is also good here with 6 lakh per annum of average package and infrastructure is also good here so go for NIT Patna ECE.

The placements offered by NIT Patna is quite good. The median salary package for B.E./B.tech was offered as 6 LPA while for B.Arch, the median salary package was 5.5 LPA.
