About NIT Patna
National Institute of Technology Patna (NIT Patna) is the 18th NIT established in 2004 by the Ministry of H.R.D. Government of India. NIT Patna is recognised as the Institute of National Importance and formerly known as Bihar School of Engineering. NIT Patna has 13 departments and offers 65 courses.
NIT Patna offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral level. The NIT Patna courses are offered for full-time and online study mode. Courses offered by NIT Patna include B.E/B.Tech, M.E/M.Tech, B.Arch, B.Sc M.Sc, M.Arch, M.Plan, Ph.D and many more. NIT Patna B.Tech fee ranges from Rs 6.02 lakhs to 7.47 lakhs. NIT Patna fees range from Rs 2.13 lakhs to Rs 7.47 lakhs.

College Infrastructure
It is one of the oldest engineering college and its infrastructure is a mix of old historical buidlings and new modern buidling personifying its historical essence.Library is fuly air conditioned and well furnished a good space to study.,same is for classes and elcture halls.Proper water and other facilities are also provided
NIT, Patna is the best college for Engineering.
College Infrastructure
Our hostels are facilitated with Wi-Fi and LAN, which are provided 24*7. The hostel mess strictly follows the menu provided. Fees for the hostel and mess are quite reasonable. The college provides a lot of sports equipment for both indoor and outdoor games, but only one common playground is there for many sports.

Hello Mihir, diploma student wishing to gain admission in the NIT Patna and any other NIT or such institute shall go about doing it with application based on the Lateral entry scheme available to all who hold a diploma degree in Engineering. Most applications to NIT colleges comprise:
- Eligibility : You must have completed your diploma with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) from a recognized institute. The diploma should be in a field relevant to the engineering course you wish to pursue.
- JEE Main : You need to appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and qualify the exam. After qualifying, you can apply for the Lateral Entry exam of JEE Main, which is only for diploma holders.
- Counseling: You will be called for JoSAA counseling based on your JEE Main score. In the counseling, you can choose your preferred NIT and branch according to your rank.
Before applying, check the eligibility requirements specific to each NIT on the official websites of the NITs.

In most cases, leaving a 5-year integrated M.Tech program after the B.Tech portion (usually after 4 years) to pursue an M.Tech elsewhere through GATE is not possible.
Integrated programs are designed as a complete package, with the B.Tech portion leading seamlessly into the M.Tech specialization. Exiting after the B.Tech portion might disrupt the curriculum and might not grant you a standalone B.Tech degree.
Universities often have regulations that don't allow students to exit integrated programs midway.
Carefully review the regulations or brochures related to the 5-year integrated M.Tech program at NIT Patna. Look for sections on program structure, exit options, or award of degrees. Reach out to the admissions office or program coordinator at NIT Patna. They can give you the most accurate information about leaving the program after the B.Tech portion.
