OJEE 2025 counselling process has commenced from June 20, 2025.
The infrastructure and hostels are good, with good mess facilities. The cleanliness on campus is taken care of. Good food is available in the mess and canteen. There are separate blocks for different departments, which are solely dedicated for that department only.
Very well-qualified and interactive teachers and staff members are available here. They are very helpful in terms of placements and university-related things. All the faculty members are very experienced. It makes the students ready for industrial work and the corporate world. Exams are of good standard.
A very high percentage of students got placed. Very good companies offer jobs with good packages. A large number of IT companies come here to recruit students. The training and placement cell helps the students and guides them to get placed, which proves to be very helpful.
Wi-Fi, Labs, Central Library facilities are available. Our electrical labs had very good equipments and AC classrooms. Overall a very good campus. There was a canteen where you will get every types of food of average quality. Medical facilities are also available here.
Exams were a bit difficult but if you have prepared well, you will get good marks, but if you haven't, it's very difficult to pass. Teachers were very helpful and they will help you in every way possible. Overall course was very good, it will get you placements in good companies
About 80-90% students got placed. Average package offered was INR 6 lpa. Top recruiting company is Maruti. In 2022-23 our college had a good placement where most of the students got placed in good companies and the maximum package in my view was around INR 15-17 LPA and average was about INR 5-6 LPA.
college infrastructure is outstanding .Campus is big it occupy around 350 acres of burla. All the department buildings having different labs with well equiped smart class rooms. for every clubs there is separate rooms.
VSSUT burla offers broad range of academic programs in the field of Engineering, technology, management and applied sciences. with a focus on research , innovation and development, VSSUT academic structure is design to provide students with a strong foundation in theoretical knowledge and practical skill.
VSSUT has a strong track record of placements ,with top companies in software, engineering and manufacturing sectors recruiting graduates .The training and placement cell plays a crucial role in preparing students for competitive exams and interviews.
Compared to many private universities and engineering institute in india ,VSSUT has a comparatively lower fee structure for its undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The fees for B.tech , M.tech, MBA and MCA are reasonable ,especially given the university's infrastucture and the level of education it provides.
Campus life at VSSUT burla is vibrant and full of opportunities for both personal and academic development .The university offers a balanced environment where students can focus on their studies while engaging in extracurricular activities .
Our college is decent in terms of infrastructure. All the labs are well equipped with the required instruments and devices. Classrooms are equipped with both smart boards and black boards. The library is good enough to fulfill all your requirements.
I'm from the department of computer science and engineering, which have the some of best faculties. Teachers are quite friendly, and lenient as compared to other branches. To be more honest, college curriculum and academics are not very sufficient for the placements, but it will give you a brief idea about the fundamentals. You need to sharp the skills of ur own to excell in the competition.
The placement record is up to the mark. Nearly all students of our branch get placed. Some of the students sit for on campus, while some focus for off campus and some others go for higher studies. The on campus placement is the best for the core branches, while CS/IT people have to put a bit more efforts.
My college is a complete value for money. I pay around 68000 per year including hostel and mess as a regular boarder. The TFW people may even less, and for self financing students, it is around 1,10,000 per year. So for a regular boarder like me, you will finish ur 4 year of btech within 3 lakhs. It's actually quite good in terms of ROI
Campus life is quite good. After the stressful classes, when you come to the CFC, bring a 20 rs wala cold coffee and sit under the trees for the chit chats, it's feels heaven. There are various types of friend groups, you will have to choose yourself, whether to stay in a healthy competition or a toxic peer pressure. Apart from that, the college is quite safe and secure for the students.
Come to the college, enjoy ur 4 years, improve ur skills, make good friends, take a good job and leave with a bunch of beautiful memories.
My college have decent infrastructure for all departments. Especially for core branches, it's quite good. It's a good place for research based study, coz the labs are available for students in working hours. There's no restriction.
Coming to the academics part, its just "study before night" thing. I think it goes with every college. They also have some good professors who really interested and want to teach the subject. We have make our own preparations parallelly for jobs.
For core branches, especially Electrical and Mechanical branches, they are really good at placements. Many companies come to our college. But for tech branches, it's like a mid - mid placements. We have to put an extra effort to get an on campus placement.
for me it costs around 19000 per year( hostel fee not included), also i have Tution fee wavier. Generally it costs around 42000 for Normal course and 82000 for Self sustaining course. You can also avail scholarship from the government.
Yes, it overall a good campus life. We have a decent exposure. There are many clubs where we can really enjoy and learn different things. But We have a large land of 500 acres approx, but campus is too small.
The college has all kinds of required equipment for electrical, civil, mechanical and computer science engineering. It has a central workshop which is mandatory for all first year students. The classrooms are well equipped although not air-conditioned. The library has good range of books essential for engineering students. The college had access to Wi-Fi but not the hostels. The food is hygienic enough and the living spaces were bearable.
Since the college is located in Odisha, most of the teachers interacted in the regional language and because of it, there was not much interaction. The teachers were lethargic towards weak students and moved at a fast pace. The curriculum is quite updated according to the new guidelines of other colleges.
The placements were quite poor and did not stand up to the expectations of its reputation. There was no 100% placement but they had good companies in the lot. Some companies even mass recruited students.
The yearly cost amounted upto Rs. 66,000 for four year and there was additional Rs. 12,000 to be paid for hostel. According to government college standards, it was worth the money although certain services were lacking.
The students were highly energetic and there was an unbreakable bond among the seniors and juniors. There were various clubs for pertaining to the interests of the students. The support staff was one of the best who personally took care of ailing students and maintained the sanctity of the college.
College infrastructure is very good with all the basic needs including canteen inside the campus and total 11 hostels (5 for girls& 6 for boys). All the hostel rooms have wifi facility so that student can do their project and article work comfortably. There is one central Library with thousands of books. There is one Bijupattnaik e-learning center for conducting all the national and international conference conducted by different branches.
The quality of education provided by this university is very good and the teachers give too much efforts to make student understand the topic and the curriculum is designed in such a way that this could help student to qualify the CSIR NET and GATE exam.
The placement quality is good for btech graduate and not so satisfactory for other science students.Almost every student get placed of the core branches but it's creates a bit trouble for some branch .
The regular course costs around 35k semester fees per year and 34k hostel mess fees per year (17k for each semester).
The college is located beside the largest river of odisha and near the longest dam of the world that is Hirakud dam, which is the best part of the location of the college. So that the student can get a natural environment near to the university. The professors are highly qualified and they are supportive enough.
Beef Surendra Sai Institute of Technology is the best Institute in Odisha. Yes, my college has all the necessary infrastructure facility and equipment. The classrooms are well structured and well maintained and all are used. The leaving space is clean, and the food is hyenic.
I'm studying in master's in science. As I did my bachelor's in science therefore, I continued my master's in science. Yes, my curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field.
The structure of placement is good. The top students are mostly getting placements in the science domain. Salary package offered to this course is high. The placement process is easy and pleasant for me. Yes my college is supportive.
Excellent
Large campus with necessary things
There are something advance equipment to be added instead of oll equipment . But there are some department which are equipping modern experimental equipments which is a nice decision by the college authorities
Academics isn't more practical or industry oriented rather than only theory and concept oriented Also college should focus on removing some old traditional knowledge and foucs on industry oriented knowledges
Placement are not so good on average 5-7LPA But still there are some students who learn from online and develop their skills and get 40LPA package from either oncampus or off campus placement drives ..
Yes value for money in 4 lakhs u will get a good degree and also there are some waive of money for the day scholars and schedule caste or tribes students. Overally it's money worthy to study in the VSSUT
Campus Life is overally good u will get a well equipped library with more than 50k books covering all domains along with that there's a canteen Cafe and swimming pool and developing gym as well there in college classroom are 4 star
College should open training for extra curricular technical activities clubs are already there but for especially training it should be added for over-all technical development of students. It's good that College has a MoU with ISRO
Yes,We have a all necessary equipment. We have also smart classroom and a central Library and all are well maintained. The living place is very clean and the food are hygienic. We have also a swimming pool and a Gymkhana.
I am pursing Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering because it has a vast opportunity. The quality of teaching is very good and the teacher are very helpful.Yes,The curriculum was update in recent development field.
Good quality of placement.Various Software company like Infosys,Wipro,Amazon,Google and non core company like maruti suzuki,Aditya birla were coming.more then 85 percent student are placed.48 LPA was the highest salary and it is from Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

Very good campus life
Very good campus.
Hello aspirant,
With an SC position that is essentially 11, you are in an excellent position for MCA admission through OJEE. For VSSUT Burla, closing ranks in 2024 for general category were around 120 and under 200—for SC, likely even higher priority and thus more accessible. So your rank of 11 is more than enough to secure a seat there. For OUAT Bhubaneswar, the closing rank for general MCA was about 1000, so you’re also comfortably eligible for admission.
In short, with your rank, you should have no issues getting an MCA seat at both VSSUT Burla and OUAT Bhubaneswar under the state quota. Ensure you complete your OJEE counselling registration, list both institutes as priorities, and participate actively in the choice-filling rounds.
HELLO,
Yes , with an overall OJEE rank of 158 and a branch (CSE) rank of 48 you are in a strong position for admission into reputable M.TECH Computer Science programs Via OJEE.
M.TECH via OJEE:- For M.tech CSE seats Filled through OJEE the general category rank is around -1500 with opening ranks around 130 And your overall rank 158 is well within that range.
You can explore Top engineering colleges in INDIA- https://engineering.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-engineering-colleges-in-india?page=6&sort_by=4
VSSUT Burla - Fills most M.TECH seats primarily via GATE but there are some non GATE vacancies allocated during OJEE counselling.
You can check previous year cutoffs for getting idea for admissions but your rank will be within or above the cutoff range .
Other Top colleges With OJEE Rank you can explore https://engineering.careers360.com/download/ebooks/top-50-btech-colleges-in-odisha
Your rank will considered good for securing admission in other top colleges also for CSE program that considers OJEE rank .
Hope that Helps!
Asmita, based on your 89k rank in the EWS category, I can tell you that you have a good chance of getting a seat in VSSUT.
After analyzing the cutoff ranks and eligibility criteria, I can confirm that you will get a seat in VSSUT. However, the branch allocation might be a challenge.
You might not get Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) due to the high demand and relatively low cutoff rank for this branch. However, you can expect to get a seat in one of the following branches:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
- Information Technology
Keep in mind that the final branch allocation will depend on the institute's policies and the number of applicants. But overall, you can be assured that you will get a seat in VSSUT. Congratulations, Asmita!
