There are only 3 ways to get Admission in BITS. They are:

• Admission through BITSAT Exam
• ISA Admission through SAT entrance
• Direct Admission to Topper of the board exams.

So these 3 are the only main criteria's in order to get admission in BITS.

As per the BITS Pilani Fee structure, candidates will have to pay Rs 39,800 as admission fee and Rs 1,78,000 for Semester 1 and 2. The fee for 2nd year is 1,94,000, for 3rd year is 2,11,500 and Rs 2,30,500 for 4th year. Approximately, there is a 10% fee increase after every year. This is just the tuition fees. Hostel and Mess charges are not included in this.

BITS Pilani gives admission on both merit and entrance basis. If a candidate has scored first rank in state or central board then she/he is not required to appear for BITSAT.

To give direct admission, the subjects they consider are Mathematics, physics and chemistry. One has to score aggregate 75% In these subjects and have a profiency in English.

The official statement issued by BITS says that, " The candidate who secured first rank (Board topper) in PCM or PCB in their respective board can apply for direct admission." and a syou mentioned that by considering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics you become the state board (Tamilnadu Board) topper. BITS Pilani's cut-off is generally high. Based on the branch that you are looking for it is highly unlikely to get into BITS. Last year the cut-off was 650+.

It is usually best for candidates to apply for the BITS HD exam which is comparatively easier than GATE.
