Yes, youre correct, according to NIRF the Median Pay for NSUT is 11 LPA while that of DTU is 9 LPA, while the former has a lower rank than latter. Firstly the ranking doesnt depend only on Placements but a lot many parameters like Faculty, Citations Produced, Infrastructure and many other factors. Secondly, DTU and NSUT have almost comparable placements as far as CSE, IT, Electronics and Electrical Branches are concerned, however, DTU has more branches than NSUT, with many branches having lower placements with lower median packages, which further lowers the Pay Median of the University. Hence, DTU is at 9 LPA while NSUT at 11 LPA.

Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned that your son has got 70799 rank in jee mains and considering the fact he is from obc category, you will easily grab a seat in any of the colleges in electrical and information technology branches but it is only possible if you belong to delhi itself.

But note it is not possible for you to get into these colleges if you are not a delhi candidate and you belong to outside Delhi candidate.

You can check out the links for cut offs-

Dear aspirant,

There are two types of sections for DTU which for delhi candidates and outside Delhi candidates. Usually the cut off for outside Delhi candidates remains high as compared to the cut offs for delhi candidates. Candidates are admitted through jac counselling.

For delhi candidates the cut off for lowest branch which is biotechnology is 1.63L and for outside Delhi candidates it is 64k.

For computer science branch the cut off for delhi candidates was 11k and for outside Delhi candidates it was 3.3k

For more cut off for diffrent branches you can check out the link given below -

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then,

In round 10 of jac counselling 2020, for st category  to get  Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) (CSDS) , 56525 was closing crl  rank for  outside delhi student in nsut.

In round 9 of jac counselling 2020, for st category  to get  Computer engineering  ,  95158 was closing crl  rank for  outside delhi student in DTU

Hello,

You need to score the minimum cut off rank that is specified to get admission in a college. For admission in to DTU and NSUT the All India Rank (or Common Rank List) is considered within the category. The cut off rank is different for each branch and college so it is not possible to indicate a unique safe score. However, we can predict the range of marks which you should aim to score to get seat in the preferred Institutes. Analysing the previous year cut off trend you need to score minimum 120 -180 marks  marks to have decent chances of getting seat in  DTU or NSUT. For reference you can check the previous year cut off for the above mentioned Institutes in the link given below

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jac-delhi-merit-list

Cut off changes every year depending on the number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.
