Hello,

The cut of rank changes every year based on difficulty level of examination total number of candidates applied for JAC counselling, total number of seats available etc. For this reason it is quite difficult to predict the cut off for 2021 to get admission in to DTU or NSUT. In 2020 the cut off was as follows for general category

Computer Engineering

  • DTU: 11258 (Delhi Region), 3190 (Outside Delhi Region)
  • NSUT: 7362 (Delhi Region), 2734 (Outside Delhi Region)

Information Technology

  • DTU:14325 (Delhi Region), 5423 (Outside Delhi Region)
  • NSUT: 12383 (Delhi Region), 3666  (Outside Delhi Region)

As you haven't mentioned your category we assume that you belong to general category. The admission is based on All India Rank of the candidate. Considering the previous year cut off you need to score above 99 percentile to be on the safe side as cut off is subjected to change.

Hi

With 92.68 percentile

Your sc rank will be around 3000.

It is quite difficult to make prediction but yes,

When we go through previous year trend then , you hold a very good chance for mechanical engineering in DTU

For example,

In round 9th of jac counselling 2020 , closing crl rank for sc category for outside Delhi region was 181739 for Mechanical Engineering

You can check the same at

https://cache.careers360.mobi/media/uploads/froala_editor/files/1608643929phpfepjgf.pdf

Coming to , you have chances in following NITs for mechanical engineering

  • Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal:- for example, In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020 , 4979  sc rank for gender neutral sc category under other state got mechanical engineering in MNIT bhopal

  • National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar

  • National Institute of Technology Allahabad

And a few more

You can previous year cut off at official website of josaa :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Above prediction of colleges is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

Thankyou

Dear Student,

ECE from DTU would be a better option than CSE at VIT.

The main reason for this opinion depends upon some factors like Brand Name, Location, Placement ratio, Fees.

See, The name DTU is itself a big name than VIT. ECE is always a better option in TIER 1 colleges.

The fees of DTU is very minimal as compared to VIT.

Placement is top-notch in DTU even for the ECE branch.

It depends upon you if you're interested in Computer science then you can go with VIT but ECE also has a good scope.

My suggestion will be to go with DTU.

All the best!

Hi Aspirant,

Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you it totally depends on you that in which course or stream you are interested in if you are interested in C.S and you are not getting the same in I.I.Ts the you may certainly try in any of the N.I.T for the same even you have good scope in both N.I.TS AND DTU/NSUT it only depends on you the how you are working hard.

Hope you found this answer useful.Stay motivated stay positive.

All the best!

Hello

How much lower are we talking here ? If you're getting mechanical, electrical, civil, IT any of these mainstream braches in iit, then i would suggest go for iit. If you're are very much interested in computer science and you enjoy coding then colleges like nit are aslo not bad because you never know if you do well in computer science in a lower college then you can get a better job than doing a bad job in other subjects in iit.

So find out in which subject you're most interested because you'll have to work on that very subject for the rest of your life. Go through the syllabuses of different braches and also look at what kind of work you'll have to do after college that will make the difference. My advice would be to be career oriented not job oriented. Choose wisely.

All the best!

Hey aspirant,

I wouldn't be able to suggest you with which branch you should go for. As,this is a really important decision amongst the students. You should only go with that branch in which you feel you are more comfortable and interested. It's but obvious that you wouldn't want to waste your 4 years of life in studying something in which you are not at all interested.

But yes, i can compare both of these colleges for you -

DTU formerly known as delhi technical university and is ranked 34th in NIRF ranking. It is known amongst all the students and it's a great opportunity for a student to get a seat in this college. This college has highly equipped labs and the faculties are highly skillful. Also, the campus of this college is beautiful and amazingly infrastructured.the campus size is somewhere around 160 acres. Now, when we talk about the placement statistics of this college then the highest package offered till date is around 1.02crores and the average ranges around 11.7lpa.Every year approx more than 350+ mncs come to this college.

Whereas, IIITD is ranked 56th in NIRF ranking and known amomgst the crowd. But when we compare this college to DTU in terms of placement statistics then it has even more good placement statistics i.e, the highest package offered by this college is 1.5cr(international company) and 43lpa(domestic) whereas the average ranges around 14-16lpa.

Comparatively both the colleges are good, the choice is totally upon you and based on your priorities.

Hope it helps.

Hello Aspirant,

See due to limited availability of hostel rooms, the rooms are first allotted to the students belonging to state other than Delhi and if the seats remain vacant then the students of Delhi can get room in DTU Hostel otherwise the priority will be given to the outsiders so you have to check whether the beds are vacant or not, if not then you won't be able to take admission in DTU hostel.

Good Luck!!

hi,

through delhi technological university has better ranking than vit , but for chemical engineering domain I would suggest you to go for vellore institute of technology main campus. DTU placement record is not promising for B.tech chemical engineering, around 70% students placed and number of core company is less.

where in vtu chemical engineering students get work opportunity in core company, IT company and management sectors. the major recruiters is honey well, tata chemicals, reliance industry, ecolab. the average package offered is 4.5 lpa.

hope it would help.

list of b.tech chemical engineering colleges is as follows:

https://engineering.careers360.com/colleges/list-of-be-btech-in-chemical-engineering-colleges-in-india

HI,

See cutoff score changes every year and it depends on some of the major determining factors like number of applicants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, students category, choice of stream and so on. however based on previous years cutoff trend at this score it is very difficult to secure branches in cse / IT/ AI , being the demanding stream  right now. for Information system at NSIT your score should be 570+.

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/nsit-mtech-cutoff

however you may apply for state wise m.tech counselling like tspgecet/ appgecet based on your gate score.

To know about complete list of probable college name, based on your score, category please use Careers360 college predictor tool,
