• IIEST have better approach to research
• IIEST offers slightly a better placement aspect
• The packages in IIEST Shibpur is much better than that of NIT.
• The faculties in IIEST are more into research.

Dear candidate IITDM Jabalpur is indeed a good Institution but your future career scopes are better accomplished if you carry out your Computer Science Engineering degree from IIEST. This is because in IITDM campus overall your experience would be good however IIEST is one of the prestigious institutions in India providing best Academic ambience to their students. The Faculties are top notch and if you consider placements highest Salary Package rise upto 22 LPA and average offered package is 7-9 LPA for CSE branch. Dear candidate out of IIEST Shibpur and VNIT Nagpur, first let us focus on VNIT, overall it is a very good college with good placements but here Mechanical Engineering branch is better taught than EEE. You would receive guidance from the Faculties but in IIEST not only Electronics and Communication Engineering curriculum but many other additional support is provided by the faculties. Average Placement package offered is around 7-8 LPA, can rise upto 22 LPA. Along with that the college maintains sophisticated infrastructure and well equipped labs too.

If you were to take my opinion I think nit Warangal civil will be a better choice than iiest shibpur or cbit ai because first of all you will get a tag of a nit. Apart from this nit Warangal is one of top three nits in india.

The college has strong placements in the civil branch too. The average package stays around 7L per annum. Companies like vedanta, jindal steel , LNT, TATA group comes for recruitment and internships.

Whereas iiest shibpur doesn't have good placement percentage in the mechanical branch.

You can always do coding and go for tech jobs. You will have enough time to grab a good tech company if you start early. Mostly companies allow a non cs candidate for placement but if some doesn't, you can always go for off campus placements.

If you would like to take my opinion I would recommend you to choose jadavpur for metallurgy but note this if you don't have a liking for coding only then go for this option.

If you want to go for the non core field I will suggest you to go for cse branch in nerist. Lastly for iiest shibpur , mining was considered to be the one of the best of iiest but the placements from the current few years is not good so I would ask you to go with cse or metallurgy.

The placements for the academic year of 2019–2020 at IIEST Shibpur had been successful as 511 students got placed in 111 reputed companies with a good salary package under the program course in Aerospace Engineering. This year the highest salary package offered was about 39 LPA.

Placement wise NIT Durgapur has an edge over iiest Shibpur.

At IIEST, average salary package is around 6 LPA-7 LPA for Electrical Engineering. About 85% to 90% of the students get placements from here. The highest salary package offered here was 27 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 4 LPA.

The overall placement rate is 71.92% here, with the highest salary package of 33 LPA and the average salary package of 9.09 LPA. Renowned companies like Qualcomm, PwC, Cognizant, Capgemini, JCB, Infosys, ZS Associates, Samsung and Alstom recruited students from here. The percentage of students getting placed is less as many students prefer to go for post graduation and not appear in campus placements.


Otherwise in terms of curriculum and infrastructure, both colleges are somewhat similar.
The total fees for each semester at NIT Durgapur is Rs 81,300. While at IIEST Shibpur the fees is around Rs 68,000 per semester.

hi, i think you should prefer cse at jamia millia islamia because the placements, infrastructure and faculty is top notch. CS placement rate is 90 to 95%, the labs, classes are well equipped. Also the 4 years fees will range to 60k to 70k which is moderate as compared to return on investment. Further if you need help, you can check out other colleges by this link-
