Hi aspirant,

IIT BHU is one of top institution in our country offering engineering programs through JEE . Currently it is ranked 11th in the NIRF engineering rankings and guarantees almost hundred percent placements for CSE and IT graduates.

The average package for CSE at the college is between 20-25 lacs and the highest package offered was around 2.25 Crores in year 2016 by Google.

Hope it helps!!

Hi Rinku!
Yes, IIT Varanasi (BHU) offers good placement opportunities especially to student of CS in the companies such as  HP, Paytm, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Google, Microsoft , Facebook and many others with highest salary package 2 crores per annum till now and lowest salary package of 5 LPA. But students of MSc (CS) are least preferred by the recruiting companies as first preference is given to the students of B.Tech CSE.

So, yes placements are there for MSc students but less than compared to BTech students.

Hope I answered your query, thankyou!

Hi Rajesh,

The answer to your question depends on the factors based on which you're judging the colleges. To start with, both of the institutes are amongst the best engineering institutes of India, and in fact, some of the surveys ranked NIT Trichy higher than IIT BHU, but that doesn't mean IIT BHU is less good.

IIT BHU is one of the oldest IITs and has state of the art labs and libraries, Sports and Research facilities, and excellent placements. Not to forget, the bright peer group you will be surrounded by.  And the most importantly the ‘IIT Tag’ that will make you most happy. Keeping in mind all of the above factors, IIT BHU will provide an unmatched experience for sure.

Now NIT Trichy won’t give you an IIT tag, but surely it would provide you with the best infrastructure and placement offers. Also, NIT Trichy has lower fees when compared to IIT BHU.

In the end, it all boils down to the fact what you really want... a branch of your choice or a college tag.

Choose wisely and all the best.

  • INFRASTRUCTURE of both the Universities are top level. Both the Universities are well established and reputed all over India.
  • ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY is considered to be better of you are an civil services aspirant.
  • BHU is considered to be better in terms of academics , where you have a peaceful environment to study. But AU is not preffered in terms of academics as the campus is mostly indulged in student politics thanks to student unions.
  • Also, the hostel allocation is not considered to be transparent in both of the colleges, as getting hostel allotment is very tough.
  • BHU has a high reputation in the field of research and training. Hostel, campus, medical exposure is also considered better in BHU .
  • OVERALL, both the colleges are good in their respects while it depends on your preference.

Thank you.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure of this IIT needs to be improved as far as other IITS are concerned. We will find decent hostels situated on campus. It also has its own mess, which provides decent food. Classrooms are also well-equipped with modern facilities. Here, the library has very limited capacity so it needs to be expanded.
