Ideal student on an average student of thermal science gets package of 4 to 8 lacs which is a average figure at any IIT. But it can range from minimum off 4 to the maximum of 15 lpa , that totally depends upon you perform and how your interview go.

For JEE advance cutoff for SC category is 5% in each subject and 17.5 percentile aggregate score.

for CSE, cutoff for SC category was:- 88. To get rank below 100 is very difficult in JEE advance. on the part of score, you have score above 85% of the total score. You have to secure a rank below 100 then you can get an admission into IIT kanpur in SC Category.

Depending on the branch you are interested in you need to score.A percentage above 70% marks in JEE advanced will give you decent chances of getting seat.But cut off may change depending on number of seats available in the branch, difficulty of exam etc.

If you General category candidate then it is pretty difficult to get Material Science in IIT BHU. IIT Kanpur is out of Reach.

Last year the cutoff was around 630 for IIT BHU. I know coutoffs varies from yera to year but in this case it is difficult to vary that much.
