Hello,

The rank that you need to obtain depends on the branch and the institute since the cut off rank varies for each branch. For example the cut off rank for admission in to Indian Institute of Technology Bombay for Civil Engineering was 684 for EWS category. And for Computer Science and Engineering it was 18. the cut off rank for admission in to Indian Institute of Technology Delhi for Mechanical Engineering was 320 for EWS category and for Electrical Engineering  was 440 for the same category. As you  can see that the cut off was was different for each branch and Institute. So it is difficult to predict the exact cut off rank. But by analyzing the previous year cut off you need to secure rank below 1000 to get seat in any of the above mentioned institutes. Cut off is subjected to change, it may increase or decrease depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of exam and number of seats available etc. The admission in to IITs is under All India Quota.

To check the cut off for IITs you can use the link below

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Hello Aspirant,

Considering this query for B.Tech course and if you want to ask for admission to any other course then please mention it.

As we go through the latest cut-off of 2020 then it shows that the closing rank for EWS category was :-

IIT Bombay - Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science - 807

IIT Madras - Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science - 1187

IIT Kharagpur - Agricultural and Food Engineering - 1790

IIT Kanpur - Materials Science and Engineering - 1314

IIT Delhi - Textile Technology - 1442

See it is quite difficult to tell you about exact marks to score because for JEE-Advance no maximum marks are fixed but yes with regards to JEE-Advance 2021 if you secure your AIR in JEE-Advance under top 1000 under EWS category then there are good chances for you to get above IITs.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Hello,

It would to be difficult to predict the exact score because the marks vs rank trend changes every year as the maximum marks to JEE Advanced changes every year. The cut off rank in JoSAA 2020 round 6 for admission to IIT, Kanpur in Aerospace Engineering was 1968 for OBC-NCL category. Taking the cut off rank in to consideration you should try to score 50-55% of the total score in JEE Advanced. The rank corresponding to the score that you score may change depending on total number of candidates appeared, top score in the exam and normalized score. To check the cut off you can logon to JOSAA official website or you can use the link below

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Dear student,
Iit kanpur only offers M.Des and phd in design and not B.des. You can see that on it's official website even which is as follows:
https://www.iitk.ac.in/design/apply.html
For more information on M. Des offered by iit kanpur you can visit the following link:

hi,

the both of the institute you have mentioned is excellent for its academic curriculum, college infrastructure, faculty students ratio, research opportunity, excellent labs and exposure for international internship. there is many notable alumni you may have heard of, who has completed their bachelors from iit kanpur or  Indian institute of space   science and technology. however based on the students review I would prefer to IIST for aerospace engineering since it is well connected with ISRO, which gives the opportunity for students to real time practical experience while studying the bachelors courses.

Hello Aspirant,

As per your category and percentile in CAT and especially in VARC section which makes you ineligible for admission to IIMs and even for some IITs as well, but you have good chances to get seat in some of the B-Schools other than IIMs or IITs for MBA/PGDM such as :-

SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai

Prin. L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai

Institute of Finance and International Management, Bangalore

Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education, Mumbai

University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh

Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Trichy

FORE School of Management, New Delhi

Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai

DMS, NIT Trichy

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra

Alliance School of Business, Bangalore

Woxsen School of Business, Hyderabad

To check the cut-off of all above mentioned B-schools and to get the details of some other B-Schools which you can get on such percentile, kindly check out the link given below :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

With a percentile of 87.69 in CAT, and have a more or less average academic record in 10/12/B.Tech, only because you are from OBC Category, I believe you have fair chances in securing a call for GDPI/WAT from Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) , IIT Kanpur. However, I still believe you would have better chances if you had secured a percentile anywhere between 90-95 in CAT for admission in MBA Programs at any of the Top IITs or Newer IIMs.

Dear student,

If you are currently studying in class 12th and you want to take admission in iit kanpur, then first you have to give jee mains exam.
If you will pass your class 12th in 2021, then you must have to give jee mains 2021. After clearing the cutoff of jee mains 2021, you will become eligible to  give jee advanced exam.

And this jee advanced is the road to IIT. If you secure a good rank in jee advanced, then you will have to attend the josaa counselling, and then as per your jee advanced rank, you will be alloted as seat in iit. And if your jee advanced rank is good enough, then you can get iit kanpur too.

Also check out the following link to know more about jee mains exam 2021 ( preliminary exam for jee advanced 2021 ) :-

Hi

Getting a call from a B- School depends upon a number of factors like your percentile score in CAT and academic profile i. e.percentage of marks obtained by you in class 10th, 12th and graduation, work experience. Your academic profile is decent as per the details mentioned by you and experience of 40 months is  pretty good

But your overall CAT percentile of 77.2 is not enough for IIMs including new /baby IIMs.
With your overall 77.2 percentile in CAT, you have chances of getting a call from following B schools :-

*Christ University, Bangalore
*IBS Business School, Hyderabad
*National Institute of Technology, Warangal
*BIMTECH, Greater Noida
*Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR University, Chennai
*Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textile Management, Coimbatore
*Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow & Jaipur
*Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore
*Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani

For details you can checkout our page, the link for the same is provided below.

https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/what-are-my-mba-admission-chances-70-80-percentile-in-cat

After getting a call , one has to go through WAT/GD/PI , and then he/she is finally selected for admission on the basis of performance in these rounds , percentile score in CAT, academic profile and work experience.

To get the list of colleges that you can get call from for your MBA, you can use CAT call predictor, the link for the same is provided below

https://bschool.careers360.com/pathfinder/cat

It will let you know the colleges from which you have chance to get a call for PGDM or MBA based on your category, your percentile score in CAT examination and your academic profile .
