see if you get jadavpur university for bachelor of architecture course, you should surely go for it. in west bengal only jadavpur university and omdayal group of institutions has b.arch course.

now coming to job opportunity ju has excellent placement record. also students of final years may work as interns in different constructions farms where they gain he hands on experience. the average packages offered ib 5 lpa. ju has the excellent and updated curriculum which is beneficial for any post engineering competitive exam.

First of all congratulations for your result. The cutoffs change every year as it depends on various factors. And Jadavpur University is among the top government Engineering colleges of India. So the cutoffs are enough higher compared to other colleges. Being one of the best Engineering colleges, all the seats are get filled within 700 to 800 rank, and maximum it goes upto 1000. So there are very less chances that you may get any seat there through your GMR. Only few seats are alloted for OBC candidates so if you try through your category rank, it might get seat in Jadavpur University. Through decentralized counselling, the cutoffs of CSE are quite higher, but you can expect Electronics, Information Technology, Civil Engineering, production Engineering, Power Engineering, Printing Engineering, Food Technology through your OBC Rank. But you can surely get good private Engineering colleges like IEM, Heritage Institute if Technology, Techno India Salt Lake etc through WBJEE counselling. This is based on last few years' cutoff and this year it might get changed.

Yes ofcourse you can get chance in JU. But to get chance you need to do exceptionally good in WBJEE. Your rank must be less than 500. Then only you can grab a seat in Jadavpur University.

Looking at your MATHEMATICS marks I should say that you must be strong enough in math to be a good engineer. Keep practicing and clearing doubts is the key to master mathematics. As 50% questions in WBJEE comes from mathematics,you must be prepared to handle the situation.

So the cutoffs are enough higher compared to other colleges. Now your General Merit Rank is 131. Going by last few years' cutoffs, you can expect Electronics and Communications and Information Technology both in Jadavpur University, if not in first round, but by the third round of counselling you get your desired branch. Last year, after third round of counselling, CSE was filled within 107 rank. So it might be difficult to get CSE in JU. Now ECE and IT Both are good in Jadavpur University. Being one of the best colleges, the professors are extremely talented and experienced. But if we see the placement Statistics, then placement for IT is better compared to ECE. Around 45 to 50 software and IT based companies come for recruitment. The placement for ECE is pretty good. Both the branches have higher studies option. Through GATE you can get into best colleges. Now it depends on your interest and passion which one to choose.

The conducting body of Jadavpur University has started the Jadavpur University 2020 admission process for academic session 2020-21 from August 18, 2020 by releasing the application form for BA Hons and BSc Hons programmes. You have to fill the application form before September 4.

The admit card can be downloaded four days before the exam.

Hi Candidate! Jadavpur University is better than IIEST Shibpur. Jadavpur University has good facilities of faculties, infrastructure, culture, academics as compare to IIEST . And of we talk about placements I don't think IIEST Shibpur has better status than JU. IIEST is good college but still they don't have good placements.

I would recommend you to choose Jadavpur University rather than IIEST.

Yes, you can change the department from math to physics in the next counselling but for this first of all you have to fill the form for both Math and Physics and you have to wait for vacant seats available in Physics department. In Jadavpur University suppose if you get admission in Maths department in your first counselling then before second counselling the students admitted in first counselling get first preference to change their department internally.
