Many people want CS only because of the placement opportunity but your career beginning is not the same as the rest of your life.
Get to know what it means to be a civil engineer or a CS engineer and the opportunities in each of the fields…
I mean, you should not get stuck in a field you don’t have an interest in. Also, many people don’t stop at just a B Tech degree… so introspect what you want to go for.
In the end, if it is about ease of placement, go for PESIT CSE. It is one of the best colleges for CSE in Karnataka, no less than NITK CSE
I see that you have got 87.8 percentile in JEE mains and you are from OBC category plus you are female candidate. And you want to go to nit Surathkal and persue chemical engineering.
See previous year closing rank for other state was around 9000 and that for home state it was around 11000 , so if you had around this rank then you are eligible for going to nit Surathkal.
All the best.
Thank you.
Hello Venkat, Well, It depends on your interest. If you are interested in aerospace engineering, then you should take the dual degree course, and if you are interested in coding and programming, then you should go for CSE course in NIT Surathkal. There are very limited job opportunities for aerospace engineers in India. You might need to go abroad after the course for better job opportunities. But CSE engineers are very much in demand.
Hello Nandu Kumar!
It would be really helpful if you tell us your SC category rank. We could have predicted it but it won't be that precise. Hence i would request you to mention your Category rank in the comment box.
I hope you reply fast.
Thank you.
Hello
I see that you are interested in taking some courses in nit trichy or nit surathkal. That is great.
And considering the new percentile method in jee mains , it became quite hard for a person to get a god rank even he has a good number. So it doesn't matter how much percentile you got. You have to finally see your rank .
Well if you want a seat in these colleges then you will have to score more than 99.7 percentile approx.
Then you will get a seat in these colleges or say try to be under 500 rank.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
See taking metallurgy branch has always been a high risk option. Because see in metallurgy branch , they don't have so much scope for jobs in companies except some psu's . That also PSU's take very less no. of graduates .
Many who take metallurgy branch end up doing phd's and researches. If you are highly interested in material science. Then you can go for it.
Talking about colleges. NIT TRICHY is having a upper hand then NIT SURATHKAL.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
Yes they have fee remission in their colleges. And you are obc and also having less than 1 lakh family income , so they will give full fee remission of the tution fee, which is around 62500.
Talking about income certificate then see , no one can give you the exact format. As it depends from state to state lso there are some criteria of colleges allso. Soyou should probably talk to the seniors of that colleges they will give you better information.
Thank you.
Im a First Year Student at NIT Surathkal persuing Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and the infrastructure is great other than their sports complex is not so good, all of the sports facilities are cramped in one place
Classrooms and sports centres are great. Infrastructure available on need basis. Wi-Fi is great but not available at good speeds at some hostels. There is CIDS and CRF that are having many projects. There are two libraries one of which is open upto 12 midnight on normal days.
The college had a big name already and it lived by it. It provided a campus considering the comfort of the students incorporating all the necessary facilities like the labs for the science and libraries.
