Hi aspirant
The cut off of NITs are too high .For any of the top NITs you need more than 97%ile for a general candidate.
You can apply for state engineering colleges .you have chances in your own state.
If you have appeared in other engineering entrances like BITSAT,VITEEE,SRMJEE,GITAM,Manipal or any other ,You can try to get college through them also.
Check cut off of NITs/IIITs and GFTIs here:https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff
Use college predictor too to predict you college:https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor
Hope this helps.
Hi, Tushar
Congratulation on your rank.
There is very less chance to get NIT Surathkal if it is not in your home state.
But you have a great chance to get a seat in other good NITs and IIITs.
here are some NITs that you can get a seat in:
National Institute of Technology, Rourkela
National Institute of Technology, Warangal
Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur
and a few other NITs.
during the time of counselling fill all the colleges and branches(as per your interest) to maximise your chances to get a seat.

Good luck !
Sorry to say but with this rank in first counseling your chances for nits are very low. You can get some state government colleges like Chandigarh university. With this rank you will surely get good private colleges like Vit,lpu, niit etc. You can try for nits but in second or third counselling you have a chance. Best of luck .
Hello!Raju Kumar
You are elligible for JEE ADVANCE.With this rank chance of getting NITs under OBC quota is less. You may get HOME STATE NIT with non core stream. To know which Colleges you may get visit below mention link:

Hope this helps you.
Im a First Year Student at NIT Surathkal persuing Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and the infrastructure is great other than their sports complex is not so good, all of the sports facilities are cramped in one place
Classrooms and sports centres are great. Infrastructure available on need basis. Wi-Fi is great but not available at good speeds at some hostels. There is CIDS and CRF that are having many projects. There are two libraries one of which is open upto 12 midnight on normal days.
The college had a big name already and it lived by it. It provided a campus considering the comfort of the students incorporating all the necessary facilities like the labs for the science and libraries.
