Hello Abhishek pandey, as you had dropped a year and now want to take admission in NIT Silchar, you need to have a Gap certificate to show the things you had done in that year. No worry, you just have to visit a notary shop near you qna ask them to specify your name, number of dropped years and the reason of drop.

Hello,
NIT Jalandhar and Silchar are more less very much same and does not offer any difference. Yet by virtue of somewhat better location I would suggest you to go for Jalandhar Electrical as location is one of the most important factors for you to get placements or proper industrial training. However if you are willing to study and slide to a better branch. ECE and CS in silchar will be better due to the faculty and also the sheer dedication which is given in Silchar towards these two top branches.

I should also warn you that with Electrical engineering you will be studying basically about the big Electrical machines and thus your placement in your core companies will be very unlikely. Most EE students ( even EEE) have to learn coding and take the IT industry job only. Since both of these NITs are more or less equivalent thus the opportunities in both the colleges will be same. Opportunity wise almost same with slight edge to NIT Silchar placement wise slight edge to NITJ.

Thank You

Hey there

If you won't get any seat in spot round then your nit Silchar seat will not be affected if you have not frozen it. But as you have got nit Silchar in regular rounds then you might will get good college in spot round.

Check JEE main counseling

Good luck

Hi aspirant
Since you have chosen freeze option therefore your seat is allocated to the the respective college. You can't change it further.
So, you can't participate in the further rounds of counseling.

Yes if you are in school you can definately get nit silicher at this marks.and home state quota is also beneficial as seat are reserved for it

But I will suggest you to prepare for IIT JEE advanced so that you can land up in good IIT

And the branch you want..

Upvote if this is useful

Well the question is are you not eligible for JOSAA counselling? Or did you not get your seat alloted at the reporting centre? Or is it that you are participating in JOSAA but you did not get a seat alloted even when you are well within the cutoff?

I would like you to check the following

1) Your given category in the JOSAA form

2) See whether you are not gettig confused with home state quota and other state quota

3) All your certificates especially caste certificate

4) Your home state eligibility

5) Whether you filled all the choices properly

And let's hope that your problem gets sorted out.

Hey,

Congratulations on being eligible for both these prestigious colleges. Both of them are great when it comes to reputation.

NIT Silchar would fetch you the NITian tag whereas VJTI is among the top and oldest engineering colleges in Maharashtra.

Coming to few differences between the two when it comes to choosing one college-

1)Placement statistics are slightly better at VJTI for electrical department, though it varies each year. The average package at VJTi is over 5 lakhs whereas at NIT Silchar, it is between 4.5-5 lakh in average. Few PSUs do visit both colleges with high packages.

2)Faculty is great at both places with most of them being PhD professors. Studies are very serious at NIT Silchar and it would provide you ample opportunities with research as well if it interests you.

3)Fees is not too high in both places. It is lesser at NIT Silchar.

You may choose based on your priorities like location, placements, fees etc.

All the best!

Hello,
the Electrical Engg. Dept. of NIT Silchar has
probably some of the best faculty in the
college.. very experienced and thoroughly
professional professors... so if you want to
learn, and learn well, they can help you a lot.
it is a well-structured department.. labs are
getting better too..

coming to exams and assignments, the
Electrical Engg. Dept. is the strictest dept. by
far.. tests are conducted like exams, and
exams are conducted like life-and-death
matters.. practical exams and viva are
similarly strict and straight.. saying that, if
you are thorough with your notes and
preparation, you can do well.. getting marks
is not the problem, because as I mentioned
earlier, the faculty there is mostly
professional, and they will award you proper
marks, if you write your tests and exams
well.
the attendance is also very strictly observed.

maintained, and one needs to be careful of
the number of the classes he is missing, or
trouble could brew later on..

now, to the most important matter, the
placements.. they are bad.. unless you are
one of the toppers, and you have been lucky
to have had a couple of PSUS visit the college
in your time, then you might sneak through
into one of them.. otherwise, its mostly IT
jobs that you will be seeking.. or if lucky a
couple of companies offering GET positions,
that are very limited..

overall, its the least preferred choice among
students joining the college, but who is to
stop you from your endeavours if you are
truly dedicated and willing to put in a little
more hard work than the rest of the lot..
if you want to learn and succeed, its a good
place to be..
if you want the easier ways out, its a place to
avoid.

Hope it helps

Hey Abhishek,

According to your query,

First of all congratulations to get NIT in first round . It's good. Now if you want different NIT in the same branch then till 5th or 6th round chances may rise. Actually first three allotement rounds are somehow final decision but every time many seats get vacant so chances may rise to get this college in further rounds.

Hope you find it useful.

Thank you.

Hello there. If you want to change your seat then you have to choose the option of float by which you can keep the current seat and can look for other college in upcoming rounds.
