Hi Prashant,
I can provide you the cutoff of Mechanical branch for NIT Silchar (Other State and OBC-NCL) candidates from which you can get an idea about your selection.
In 2018, after last round-
Opening Rank- 5689 and Closing Rank- 7777
In 2017, after last round-
Opening Rank- 5994 and Closing Rank- 8220
In 2016, after last round-
Opening Rank- 6085 and Closing Rank 7606
From this, you can figure out that you need to get a rank below 10,000 to stand a chance in NIT Silchar.
Hope this helps you.
All the best!!!
Hello
Hitesh NIT is a good college
but NIT Silchar doesn't stand rank one among all the NIT's.
Yes it is a good college too compared to other
More importantly ,........ VLSI is the best subject to go for .
It really has great scope in future.
The campus Infrastructure is quite good.
Placement rating for this is 3.5 to 3.9 .
My suggestion is ...go for it because of the subject .
Good luck
Else if you have another option or so do commence below will guide you .
Hello Rahul,
Congratulations on your 91 percentile first of all.
Secondly for applying for admission in NIT silchar, you need to appear under the eligibility criteria that includes:
1- Applying for the JEE (mains) examination
2- securing Atleast 75% in your class 12th board examination which is modified to 65% for SC/ST/OBC
Considering your amazing percentile of 91% you should be eligible for admission in the states college.
Now there might be some other criterias that are specified by the college apart from these for which you would like to get in touch with the concerned college authorities.
I hope this helped.
Hello Aspirant!
Looking at your percentile scored in jee mains exam(I.e 94 percentile) , there are greater chances of getting a suitable branch in nit silchar under the home state quota.
Going to say for the top notch branches like cse, electrical, mechanical, civil , etc , there are chances of getting those branches only in the special rounds of josaa counselling.
Hope this helps you :)
Hi Ankur,
The cutoff for NIT Silchar varies for different categories like general, sc, st, obc.
Looking at previous year cutoffs for general category and home state quota, I think you will be able to get the branch of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or even Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
But according to the cutoff of 2017, the closing rank for the home state was about 70000 in all branches.
So it all depends on your rank.
All the best!!!
Hello ashish,
Based on last year cutoff for mechanical engineering in nit silchar your chances are very less for getting mechanical engineering there. As the expected cutoff for this year is expected to be more or less the same as previous year.
Last year theclosing rank in the 7th round for mechanical engineering with home state quota was near around 51k for general category students.
But in spot round you have chances that you can grab a seat there .
Best of luck and feel free to ask more doubts and queries in the comment box below
Hello,
If you are under home state category for NIT Silchar then with 17170 rank you can surely get Mechanical Engineering branch but for that you would have to wait for 6-7 rounds of counselling.
But if you are not eligible for home state quota then 17170 would not help you to make it to Mechanical engineering in NIT Silchar.
Hope this will help.
Thanks.
NIT Silchar maintains a well-maintainned campus with modern infrastructure - spacious classrooms equipped with smart boards, central library, sports facilities and descent hostels. Overall infrastructure is good which helps in excelling in academics and extra-curricular activities.
There is no doubt that NIT Silchar has one of the most beautiful campus in country. For a nature lover like me ,it is sure that you are going to have a good time.NIT Silchar is one of the oldest NITS and is regarded as one of the best NIT . NIT Silchar has the largest Digital library in India .
The hostel experience was nice, with timely breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, the mobile network was very poor in the hostel room and sometimes lan did not work properly. classrooms are in pretty good condition in new gallery classroom. for civil laboratories, the equipment was not maintain properly.
