Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Instrumentation Engineering under the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is a two-year (4 Semesters) full-time postgraduate 

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area, with at least 60% marks or a CGPA/CPI of 6.5 on a 10 point scale. The closing rank  of 2018 for ECE under state quota was 15675 and for other other states it was 6202

For Mechanical Engineering it was 7694 for state quota and 5516 for other states.

For EEE the closing rank for home state candidates was 10285 and for other states it was 4785.

Based on the closing ranks of 2018 your rank will not be sufficient enough to get NIT Silchar.

But the cutoff will vary every year based on the difficulty level of exam, no of applicants , no of seats available etc.

Hii,do not worry i am here to help you according to your query.Let me start about thier placement and infrastructure.

Placements : The placements for M.Tech. Is quite poor. The percentage of people placed from both the batch of 2018 and 2017 was quite small. In the batch of 2018, the only notable company for placement for the M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering were the PIAGGIO. There were no R&D companies for the M.Tech students and the M.Tech students weren't allowed to sit on the placement for the PSUs.

Infrastructure : The infrastructure in NIT silchar is average for a technical institute. The hostels and classrooms are quite adequate and built sufficiently advanced to satisfy the needs of the students and teachers alike. However, the library facility is not upto the mark.

Sorry geremsa, you can't get admission in nit Silchar with this rank, Nit Silchar is best engineering college of assam, you must have to improve your rank. But you have a chance to get admission in Assam University, Silchar.

With a rank of 13670 in JEE Main, you can easily get admission into NIT Silchar. Now you just have to worry about which branch to choose. In NIT Silchar, you can easily get all other branches like Electronics and communication, Civil, Mechanical , Chemical, Electrical engineering etc except Computer Science and Engineering.

If you enjoy a home state quota, then you can easily get Computer science and engineering as the closing rank goes around 22k.

But if do not belong to home state quota, the you have very less chances for getting admission in CSE branch because the closing rank goes around just 10k.

You have secured a good rank but getting NIT Silchar depends on your home state. In 2018 the closing rank for General and OBC candidates for ECE was 57k and 28k. For home state. 

But for other states it was only 21k for general. 

So with your rank you have a chance in this college if you are a General/OBC that too from home state.
