Hello,

You haven't mentioned whether you belong to OBC-NCL or OBC-CL, if you come under OBC-CL then you are considered as general category. Your overall category rank is expected to be around 6084 and you can calculate it by the formula (100-your total percentile)*112679/100 where 112679 is the total number of candidates appeared in JEE Main Paper 2 in January session 2020. Your category rank will be around 1000. In 2019 the cut off was as follows

NIT, Calicut

  • General: 1362
  • OBC-NCL: 804

NIT, Trichy

  • General: 1075
  • OBC-NCL: 652

You may not get seat in neither of the institutes if you belong to OBC-CL but you may have chances of getting seat in NIT, Calicut if you belong to OBC-NCL category. Cut off in 2020 changes depending on number of candidates appeared, number of seats available and difficulty of exam.

Of course you will get there is an also chance to better that i.e top NITs from previous analyse but can't complete say with full surety as on competition and high score the ranks may get deviated so don't lose hope you should try for top three or five NITs. Best of luck

Hello,

NIT Trichy is the best NIT and its ranking is also better than many IITs. The placement of NIT Trichy is the best. So it has kept its cutoff very high since years. As you have said that you have scored 93% in jee mains. So it would be difficult to fetch you a seat here. You may go for other NITs.

All the best.

Dear Student,

NIT Trichy is very good in every way like Infrastructure , Faculty and the Placement too. The infrastructure of this college is really very up dated, it's having Wi-Fi in the whole campus, washing Machines, Water purifiers etc. Highly Well qualified faculties teaches here and they are very much student friendly. The placement is one kind of confirmed in this college if you are serious in your study. The average salary is in between 6 LPA to 7 LPA.

Thank You.

Hello!

The NITs have high reservations for SC/ST category along with home state quota and female supernumerary.

All this will surely give chance to students with a percentile like yours to get in.

You should surely give it a try.

Fill the preferences of the desired branches in the home state NIT. This can help.
