I'm glad to tell you that you ARE eligible to get admission in Thapar University, Patiala. The cut-off of TIET Patiala depends on whether you are from Punjab or are from outside. The cut-off for Computer Engineering in TIET is:

1. 10980 rank or 98.90 percentile in JEE Main (Outside Punjab)

2. 15398 rank or 98.43 percentile in JEE Main (Punjab)

So, it would be safe to assume that you will be able to get Computer Engineering in TIET Patiala at around 98.90 percentile if you are from outside Punjab and around 98.43 percentile if you are from Punjab.

Admissions are open in Thapar University and you can apply for admission to undergraduate postgraduate and doctorate programs by visiting the official website of Thapar University. Admission to the Thapa University provided on the basis of different entrance examinations mentioned below:

Both are decent private universities with decent placements. But comparatively, Thapar University has got a little edge over LPU because of great education facilities and available faculty. The placements are almost similar. Infrastructure wise again THAPAR University is better. But when it comes to fees, Thapar charges a lot more than LPU for the btech course. THAPAR University is ranked 12 but has a fees of 16 lakhs approximately for the btech course. LPU Phagwara is ranked 35th and has a fees of 10.05 lakhs roughly for the full btech course. Thapar institute of engineering and technology offers admission into engineering courses on the basis of scores in JEE main examination. The university conducts counselling for the students on the basis of jee main scores and seats are allotted to them on merit basis. Both are the good colleges but in term of faculty, Placement & industry exposure the best option is Thapar University for Civil Engineering. The companies visit to Thapar university like Juniper Networks (I)Pvt. Ltd., Infogain India, Adobe Systems India Pvt. Ltd., GS Engineering & Const. India Pvt. Ltd. and the average package is approximately 4 to 5 lakh per annum.

The companies visit to LPU like Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Yahoo, BOSCH. The average package is approximately 4 to 4.5 Lakh per annum.

No, you can not get direct admission in Thapar University. Admission in B. Tech is purely based on the score you get in JEE entrance exam.

Candidates must appear in for JEE exam to get admission in THAPAR UNIVERSITY.

For MBA candidates must appear for CAT/ CMAT/ GMAT

Since the cutoff of most streams related to CE in thapar is above 98percentile so on that basis I don't think you will be able to get computer engineering in thapar bit yes if you have a good score in your 12th board then you might stand a chance as above 96.6 percent you get CE here according to the latest trends sometimes there is a possibility of getting CE at a lower percentile as well in the spot round but that is not a conformed thing also you may predict other colleges you may get b using this link
