Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla is one of the best state government colleges of Odisha. The institute provides admission to the best rank holders of the state. For every branch, there are a limited number of seats. After CET, Bhubaneswar, VSSUT Burla is the most sought after government engineering college of the state. Therefore, getting an enrollment in the institute is a pretty tough job to accomplish.

With a rank of above 2 lakhs, it is not possible for you to get admission in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering in VSSUT. Furthermore, you belong to the general category. If you had some other form of reservation, preferably SC or ST, you could have gained a seat in VSSUT in the preferred branch of yours.

The cutoff for ETC in VSSUT for general category students is 1,30,000. A candidate trying to secure a seat in ETC needs to secure a JEE Mains rank less than this cutoff rank.

At this rank of yours, you may get admission in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and Production Engineering. All other branches are little out of your league right now with respect to the JEE Mains rank that you have secured.

Until 2019 if you score atleast 92 marks out of 360 in jee main ,you can expect atleast production engineering branch, but due to tremendous decrease in cutoff marks of jee main 2017 i.e 100 marks in 2016 to 81 marks in 2017,students scoring 45 marks out of 360 got production branch and who got 95 or 96 (eg:- myself) got Electrical and mechanical branch……so if u aim to get a seat in VSSUT….score atleast above 100 to get a better branch as the cutoff change ridiculously everyyear.
