With a rank of 12,756 in AP EAMCET 2025 , you are eligible to apply for B . Tech courses at VIT-AP University without appearing for VITEEE . VIT - AP reserves 35 % of its seats for EAMCET candidates , and past cutoffs show that students up to 35,000 rank have secured admission . Your rank is well within the safe range for branches like CSE , ECE , and Mechanical.

If your son’s first preference is CSE, then Amrita Bangalore clearly leads among the three, simply because CSE opens more doors in terms of placements, internships, and future-proof careers. Amrita is also NAAC A++ and has a strong reputation, especially for CSE. Category 2 is also manageable fee-wise compared to higher categories.

VIT Chennai is a decent campus, and their ECE program is solid, but Category 5 means much higher fees and very low chance of branch upgrade later. CSE at VIT Chennai would have been more competitive here — but ECE at that fee tier is not as strong a deal unless your son has a strong interest in core electronics.

Manipal Bangalore (MIT Bengaluru campus) is a newer campus. ECE there is still developing in terms of placements and faculty compared to the main Manipal campus. Unless your son strongly prefers Bangalore or is getting some advantage here like scholarships or internship access, it doesn't stand out above Amrita.

So, recommendation: Go with Amrita Bangalore CSE (Category 2). It balances a strong branch with a decent campus and better long-term potential in the tech industry. If your son is open to core electronics and you’re okay with the higher cost, VIT Chennai is fine, but still comes second to CSE at Amrita.

VIT has good placement record lately, they have strong industry connections and coding culture and Manipal is known for better campus life and student satisfaction, strong alumini network..

So, choose VIT for better CSE exposure and coding culture and choose MIT for quality of life, smaller classes and balanced growth.

With your given percentile , your chance of  getting top branches like  Computer  Engineering  , IT , AI/ML , or ECE at VIT Pune are quite low , as these usually  close  at 97 - 99 percentile  or higher . However , you do have chance of getting  into branches like Mechanical Engineering or possibly Instrumentation and Chemical Engineering, which typically have lower cutoffs around 92 - 95 percentile .

With a JEE Main rank of 83,472, getting into VIT Mumbai in CAP Round 2 under the OMS (All India) category is not possible. In recent years, the cutoff for branches like Computer Engineering in CAP Round 2 was around 4,500 to 5,000. Since your rank is much lower, chances are almost negligible.

Yes, if your VITEEE rank is at 18,000, you have a decent chance of getting a seat for EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) at VIT-AP (Amaravati) campus when you attend the counselling, and take into consideration the overall cut-off ranks at VIT-AP for EEE are higher (i.e. easier with lower cut-off ranks) than at VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai, but realize it also depends on available seats and competition that year. Having a rank of 9973 in EAMCET under EWS means you can possibly get into Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) in VIT-AP; that will also depend on the cutoffs for this year based on from previous year's cutoffs. In previous years, candidates with ranks in the range of 10,000–12,000 have also gotten ECE, especially in the last rounds. No, the VIT AP does not provide the option for lateral entry (diploma based) for B.Tech. The only way appears to take admission is through VITEEE for the 1st year. You may look for another colleges that allow diploma based admissions like Loyola Institute in Chennai.
