Hello Aspirant,
With a 489 rank in CG PET 2025 under the General category you have a very good chance of getting CSE at BIT Durg. Historically CSE has closed at about 700-800 under General category, so you will be well within the typical cutoff range.
Electrical Engineering at BIT Durg is also a good branch. The department has good faculty and labs. While placements in core EE are not as many compared to CSE, many EE students got good placement in IT/software roles on campus. If you have an interest in electronics, power systems or want to prepare for competitive exams like GATE or PSU jobs then EE is a good option.
hi,
If you’ve scored 89 percentile in JEE Mains 2025 and are aiming for Computer Science (CSE) at BIT Durg, your chances depend on a few factors like your category and whether you’re applying under the home state quota.
From previous year trends on Career360, CSE at BIT Durg usually requires a percentile above 92–95 for General category students. However, if you belong to OBC, SC, or ST categories and have the home state advantage, 89 percentile could still give you a fair chance, especially in the later rounds or spot rounds.
Even if you don’t get CSE in the first few rounds, you can still keep hope for IT or other related branches, which are also good.
Hello,
Yes, you can write the session 1 exam even if your 12th mark sheet was not uploaded during the BIT SAT application . Usually, not uploading the mark sheet at the time of registration does not stop you from appearing in the exam.
Just make sure to upload the required documents before the final admission process or as instructed by the exam authority.
If you want to be completely sure, you can check with the BIT SAT help desk or their official website for any specific rules about this. But generally, there is no objection for writing the session 1 exam in this case.
Hope it helps !
