Hello Piyush Porwal, Choosing a department during the whole process of counseling can be confusing and hectic. In this situation, if you have a branch preference, it helps quite a bit. However, in your case, that is when you don't seem to have a preferred branch choice, you should consider the closing ranks of the departments in various colleges and decide on the department which you get in the very last round of counseling. If we take into the consideration the closing ranks after JEE ADVANCED for the last year, the Computer Science and Engineering department at IIT Bombay closed at an exactly OPEN RANK 59
So for a rank of 145, getting IITB looks improbable by the looks of it.

GATE, unlike college examinations, cannot be cracked with an overnight preparation. It requires dedicated and prolonged efforts.
For someone who is dedicated towards GATE preparation, start right from second year. Start slowly but steadily. Focus on the basics. While studying for college exams, prepare for competitive examination point of view also. Do solve previous year questions side by side. No need to rush. Just maintain a balance between preparation and college life.

It is very difficult for sure.
First of all it is very difficult to crack JEE Main, and then JEE Advanced And IIT Bombay being one of the finest IITs you need to rank and rank very high to get CSE. As CSE is difficult to get in any college, And IIT CSE seats are on a different level. so, do the maths

See first of all i would tell you a bitter truth.
No college and branch guarantees 100% placement and moreover placement stats in iit are falling year by year.
But still most top rankers go for iit bombay cse and mamy of them go to abroad for cs.
But still iit bombay cse has the best average package till date.
So dont worry everything depends on your skill bot your college or your branch

Dear aspirant,
As far as your query is considered then spot round is conducted in last which we could call it as conducted for vacant seats in IITs . So you can apply for that round if you didn't want your alloted seat. Now coming to procedure then you should know that spot counselling is the process via which you would get seat. This round may held after completion of admission process. After all this, spot counselling is done offline.

You can choose your desired branch as per your interests. Since iit BOMBAY is the top most important college in India you can choose that. After first semester if you have scored greater than 9 cgpa you can shift to CSE branch. CSE has application in computer which is the most desired branch. Even Metallurgical is also good but CSE has the highest packages and placements.

Top-notch PhD experience at IIT Bombay.

The campus at IIT Bombay is huge and got modern labs and classrooms. Libraries are full of books and online stuff, high speed internet everywhere. Labs have good equipments for research in computer science. Its nice but sometimes crowded. Hostel rooms are okay, not fancy but clean. Overall, infrastructure help a lot in PhD work.

My college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments from both academics and sports activities. It has Hostels for all the students from btech, mtech to phds so we don't have to look for the Pg outside the college.
