I have got 1126 in wbjee.Is power engineering is perfect for me in jadavpur university?

Congratulation first of all on such a great rank. It seems you have made up your mind that you want to take admission in Jadavpur University only. Since you haven't mentioned any quota i assume you are a general category student. According to you rank you may get following streams :

1. Civil Engineering

2. Power Engineering

3. Metallurgy

4. Production Engineering etc.

You have a good chance at these streams not only Power.

Can I get civil in jadavpur university, my rank is 1336 and I belongs to other state quota.

1.Construction Engineering

Last year closing rank- 1860

2.Food Technology and Biochemical Engineering

Last year closing rank- 2364

3.Metallurgical Engineering

4.Power Plant Engineering

Last year closing rank- 1667

5.Printing Engineering

Last year closing rank- 2554
Sorry you cannot get Civil Engineering because last year's cut off was 1185.

See according your SC rank really good colleges like Jadvpur University are not under reach atleast courses like Computer Science etc. You can get good streams but the college won't be that great particukarly talking about round 1. As rounds go on, you have a good chance of getting streams in some colleges..

College Infrastructure

A bit underwhelming due to inadequate funding. Basic labs found in first year are not upto the mark. However when it comes to equipments, toh would probably all of them except half of them are obsolete from industry pov.

It is going quite good yet.

College Infrastructure

The Jadavpur University has quite old buildings. But, it has a central library with separate libraries in each department. It has 4-5 canteens at different points in the campus. It also has an Open air theatre, A gym, and a basketball court adjacent to the main ground.

My experience at Jadavpur University was great.

College Infrastructure

The university still uses alot of buildings that are way too old and they are maintained very rarely. But, few new buildings have been built recently which is a good thing. There is a lack of adequate labs for example in my department (Economics) there is no sufficient facility. There is also lack of ACs in the classrooms.
