LPU is one of the largest university in India which was previously 600 acres but now it’s more than 700+ acres (Largest would be G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology with 12,661 acre in area).This university is considered to be one of the biggest with more than 40K+ plus students studying here with some of the greatest faculties.LPU is such a big campus that it consist of more than 58 blocks including all boys and girls hostel and all the educational blocks.LPU is situated in Phagwara, Punjab in 600+ acres with thunderous surrounding and numerous oppurtunities waiting for you.You will get playing grounds, basketball court, gym, mall and an open audi with two humangous auditorium. Almost all facilities are provided in the campus itself including medical services, sports, restaurants etc.

There is no specific Disadvantage of studying BSC Biotechnology in LPU but , The disadvantage of this field is the limited number of companies employing biotechnologist as compared to the huge number of IT companies ready to absorb the computer science pass outs. So, you will have to really work hard to crack the interviews and tests to prove your worth. Also, the number of seats in biotechnology courses is  limited as compared to other traditional streams.

see from academic, infrastructure and placement point of view both the institute is good. however the average placement package is large in lovely professional university.  it Ranked 2nd for outreaching and being inclusive in india. the college networks and tie up is best compare to lm thaper.

Both are the good colleges but in term of faculty, Placement & industry exposure the best option is Thapar University for Civil Engineering. The companies visit to Thapar university like Juniper Networks (I)Pvt. Ltd., Infogain India, Adobe Systems India Pvt. Ltd., GS Engineering & Const. India Pvt. Ltd. and the average package is approximately 4 to 5 lakh per annum.

The companies visit to LPU like Accenture, Tech Mahindra, Yahoo, BOSCH. The average package is approximately 4 to 4.5 Lakh per annum.
