According to careers360, SLIET Longowal got 4.2 rating out of 5. And the placements Rating as 3 out of 5. In 2019 Number of companies visited SLIET is  44 Number of students placed is 192 and Average salary offered to the students is  4 LPA .

According to careers360 NIT Srinagar got 3.9 rating out of 5. And placement rating as 3.5 out of 5.Highest Package Offered through the Campus Placements of 2020 is Rs. 22 LPA  .

Both college are good in infrastructure and good placements results. But comparing placements rating NIT is slightly edge over than SLIET.

ONGC does recruitment through GATE scorecard, followed by personal interview.You can apply for GATE exam in 3rd as well as final year of engineering and then based on on your rank you can apply for various PSUs. ONGC only recruits toppers probably in top 20 or so.

I would say that if you are a true aspirant for iits or nits then you should go for a drop.

But yes sliet punjab cse placement is not very encouraging and in punjab there is drug issues but these things at the end depend on student.

see saint longowal and cv ramman global university both of the colleges comes under tier 1 college and have excellent placement, however according to the job prospect and jobs opportunity In india it would best to study CSE since most of the tier 1 companies are IT industry,. however a person can make a career in any discipline and earn a decent salary if she/ he have excellent knowledge on the particular domain. so you have to decide which of the stream  you want to study .

SLIET Longwal is a good technical institute and is one of the best in Punjab next to IIT Ropar, NIT Jalandhar and PEC Chandigarh. The institute has good infrastructure, faculty and research facilties. As far as the campus is concerned, it is safe and has a heakthy culture and peer environment. Sangrur itself is one of the better districts in Punjab and is also well connected with major cities in Punjab like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Jaladhar as well as Delhi.

Instrumentation and control engineering is an average branch at sant longwal institute of engineering and technology. What decides the ranking of a college is primarily its placements. Percentage of students placed from the previous year's batch was 22%. The highest package offered was 9 LPA. The lowest was 2 lpa. Students received internship in ntpc as well as psu's.

SLIET Punjab provides several scholarships according to merit basis. There are several eligibilty conditions for that purpose, one of them is that your family's annual income must not be more than Rs.2.5 lakhs. The CS branch is probably one of the best branches to choose in SLIET Punjab. The faculty are all experienced dignitaries from IITs and NITs, with a PhD degree. The curriculum is regularly updated. The placements in the CS branch is maximum among all other branches. Companies like TCS, Adobe, Capgemini and Infosys visit the campus for placement objectives.
