Hello Manju,

Yes, considering that you scored 978/1000 in 12th grade, and in JEE Mains, you got a percentile of 80.9, your chances of getting admission to this university are very good under the stream based on board exam marks (Stream 1), as this university takes 70% of the marks in Class 12 and 30% of JEE Main percentile. For the CSE stream (with specializations like AI, Data Science or Cybersecurity), there is more competition with a board scorer like you (especially for Stream 1) but this admission also depends on the cut-off trends of that year, and the number of people who have applied. With board scores like yours, you have a fair chance, especially with early application and selecting many choices.

You can consider choosing the CSE specializations as your top choices, but also have options like ECE, or core CSE with no specializations as your other preferences, to help in your chances of admission.

HEY THERE!!

With 967 IPE marks and 90 percentile in JEE Mains, you have a very high probability of getting a CSE core seat in SASTRA University through the usual merit-based admission process.

Admission Process at SASTRA

  1. Stream 1 (70% seats): It is conducted on a combined score: 75% weightage to your Class 12 (IPE) marks and 25% weightage to your JEE Main score.
  2. Stream 2 (30% seats): Only on Class 12 (IPE) marks.

Your Chances

  • Recent times student reports and expert answers indicate that above 900 IPE marks and a good JEE Main percentile (generally above 85–90) are generally sufficient to obtain a CSE seat in SASTRA.
  • SASTRA's CSE cutoff is likely to be tough, but your 967/1000 in IPE and 90 percentile in JEE Main are strong for the CSE core, especially in Stream 1.
  • Last year's cutoff every year is based on the set of candidates, but your profile is on or above the average admitted student profile for CSE.

Conclusion:

With your marks, you have a strong possibility of securing a CSE core seat at SASTRA University, though allotment will finally be made depending on the competition that year and the availability of seats. Attempt to apply through both streams to maximize chances.

Hello Aspirant,

Your marks of 820 in your 12th boards, in combination with the 75.52 percentile from your JEE Main score, may help you to get a place in EEE branch in SASTRA University under stream 2 (JEE Main + Board Marks), although admission might be highly competitive.  In Stream 2, SASTRA University calculates admissions using 70% of Board Marks and 30% of JEE main percentile. The weighted scores will be normalized and used to develop a merit list, as EEE is a core subject, you may be looking at a slightly higher cutoff especially as it's a main campus (Thanjavur) course.

You might have a better chance if:

  • You're applying under Stream 1 (board marks only).

  • You’re open to the second campus (Kumbakonam).

  • You apply early and keep backup options.

Please check past year cutoffs or contact the SASTRA admissions team for a better idea.

Based on your 987 marks in intermediate and 84.6 percentile in JEE, you may have a chance to secure a seat in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch at SASTRA University. The university considers both your 12th marks and JEE scores for admission. In previous years, the cutoff for CSE was around 987 marks in intermediate, and your score is close but slightly below this threshold. While admission is not guaranteed, there may still be opportunities, especially if you belong to a reserved category. It's best to check the official SASTRA University website for updates on the admission process and cutoffs.
