Amity University | M.Tech Admissions 2025
ApplyRanked amongst top 3% universities globally (QS Rankings).
Hello Aspirant,
In Sastra University the admission is done on the basis of scores obtained in jee mains and 12th scores.
As per your scores you have fair chances of getting core branches like mechanical, electrical, civil branches. But this is as per the previous year trends . There are certain factors such as number of candidates appearing in the counselling, previous year cutoffs and number of seats available in the college which determines the current year cut offs.
But you can be assured that you will get any of these branches.
Dear Aspirant,
Sorry to say but you will not be able to get a seat.
It always depends on the competition for the seats at SASTRA. Sometimes you might, Sometimes you can’t. Below is the counseling status:
Let me share the counseling statuses in 2017. I secured AIR 1333 under stream 1. I had a friend whose AIR was 450 under stream 1. He was called on the first day-first session. I was called on the second day-first session. Now, let me be accurate, each session is conducted for 600 students and 2 sessions like this happen per day.
Now, here’s the data after day 1 counseling regarding the number of seats left in various departments. These results were made available on the sastra website after day-1 counseling was over.
CSE : 0
ECE : 0
IT : 0
ICT: 4
EEE: 22
EYE: 37
Mech: 41
Civil: 48
Aerospace: 30
Biotech: 36
Chemical: don't remember
Mechatronics:20
Now, On day 2, I can guarantee that 80 people went up for choice filling but only 20–30 people chose their seats because the others wanted only CSE or ECE and hence they left without choosing. The next 100 ( i.e., from 1300–1400) were called in groups of 27 and they were given choices to choose from.
EEE: 8
Mechanical: 10
Mechatronics: 16
EI: 36
Civil: 46
Aerospace: 30
Biotech: 36
Chemical: don't remember
EEE ends by 1100 and ECE by 700–800, and CSE by 400. But that day was different, somehow the odds were in my favor.
Extra Info: Here are some seat details I would like to give from what I have heard from others,
EEE was there until 1400 appx. ( my other friend was 1393 and chose EEE)
Mech was there until 1405–1410 ( I heard some parents getting disappointed when their child was just a few ranks from where Mechanical was over).
Mechatronics was there until 1550–1600.
and the rest, I just don't know…. :)
hope SASTRA aspirants find this informative. Don't take this year’s counseling for granted, these seats can vary next year.. who knows, maybe all core branches can get over by 1000.. several people who attend the counseling matter your result the most because’ the seats they choose affect your decision.
Feel free to ask more questions.
All The Best.
Hello,
There are two admissions streams, first.
JEE main scores plus Intermediate Score (70% seats) in Stream 1
Only Intermediate scores (30% seats) in Stream 2
You have a fair probability of getting into Sastra utilising stream 1 if your rank is around 1300 but your rank is larger. With this score, passing stream 2 is nearly impossible. Thus, you might obtain the branches below.
Thank You
Hello,
One of Sastra University's most well-known programmes is the B.Tech, which is available in 11 specialities. Candidates must take the JEE Main test and engage in the university's counselling process in order to be considered for B.Tech admissions at Sastra University.

Selection Criteria
So, if you give JEE exam, then with you 12th class and Jee rank you can can admit in the Sastra University.
Thank You
Hello,
For electronics engineers, it is a crucial cutoff. It depends on how many applicants are in the top 93 percent. Considering your score is fairly outstanding, I believe ECE and CSE may be challenging to obtain but are finest. Being that these are the three most sought-after branches, gaining an admission with that score is a bit of a challenge. However, the score will be useful for obtaining other non-competitive branches like Bio-Tech, IT, and ChemE (which people put less attention to since they don't generally prefer owing to their experience and database).

Hello,
In SASTRA, there is no set cutoff for admissions. Depending on the competition, it varies from year to year. However, if we look at the records from prior years, the cut off may be somewhere around rank 150 in stream 2 and 400 in stream 1. It differs from the usual cutoff, though. Based on a variety of variables, it changes from year to year.
Thank You

Hello Aspirant
Yes , you can get a seat in sastra . But it will be little difficult to get top branches as the demand for top branches like CSE is more so the cutoff is more. But please apply for the counselling process and hope for the best.

hope you are doing well
You must secure your rank below 23k to get admission in Sastra University, or you can get it by any type of quota if you have. Hence for getting CSE at SASTRA one has to score above 95% in 12th and above 93 percentile in JEE Main.
Your 12th marks and jee marks will decide your seat in sastra university. The merit is made based on 25% weightage of JEEmarks And 75% of your class 12th marks. So as you have calculated then your marks are good and their are some chances that you get stream 1 in good branches.
you get admission by
Stream 1 : JEE main marks + Intermediate Score (70% seats)
Stream 2 : Only Intermediate score (30% seats)
Holding a rank around 4k to 5k. you have good chances to get in to sastra using stream 1 (but you may not get cse, ece). Getting in through stream-2 with this score is almost difficult. So, you may get the below branches
ICT (Information Communication Technology)
Civil Engineering
Biotechnology
EEE
hope this is helpful for you
all the very best for your upcoming future

My experience with this college is a mixed one ..The infrastructure of the university is good and is the most remarkable for the computing programs The research facilities here are top notch with fully equipped Labs and great professors (not all but a few ones are very experienced and influential in their field..other buildings are average and there is a wifi facility available 24/7 for laptops..no cycle is available ..The food is good..but everything has its bad days too..the form is quite clean
