    College Infrastructure

Infrastructure wise buildings are quite good. Sports center is not that much good but for cricket and football sports community is very good. Also hostel is not that up to the mark but the food provided by them is quite hygienic.

    Academics

The university is quite well known from ages and its one of the best university in Punjab and Academics wise teachers are quite educated. Overall the Curriculum is quite update and yes i think this course makes me job orientated.

    Placements

Jobs are always based on students however the placement of the college is very good. Moreover last year around 75% of the students got placed in good companies and they were satisfied by the job. Average salary provided by the company is approx 10 Lakh per year.

    Value for Money

My course cost me 4L per year. including my hostel and food which they provide to me.I am quite happy with my fees and i think that my money is worth it i have spend my money on one of the best college.

    Campus Life

College Campus is quite big and i am very happy about the campus. Moreover the students are quite friendly here and the teachers are always supportive I would like to recommend you this college and the location is also quite safe

    College Infrastructure

Firstly I will elaborate on classrooms and educational facilities. The classrooms/lecture halls are huge and have all the necessary facilities such as projectors and are air conditioned. The labs are also up to the mark. Sports facilities are excellent. But there is a huge disparity between first year hostels and other hostels. The food in the first year hostels could be better.

    Academics

I am a coe student. The quality of teaching is good but there is scope for improvement. i feel that the syllabus of first year is outdated. What is the point of studying subjects such as chemistry for a computer student.

    Placements

The quality of placements is outstanding and is better than reputed colleges such as VIT. The average package is around 6 lakhs and for a computer student,it's around 8 lakhs. The college is also encouraging and supportive in this matter.

All I can say I am having great time at college.

    College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is much satisfactory. Thapar has recently made it's new library which is excellent in facilities. Classrooms are getting updated. Sports centers are good. Almost all hostels have proper facilities.

    Academics

I am pursuing Computer Engineering (COE). Quality of teaching is average. Some teachers are great. But there are some teachers who don't have proper knowledge of there respective course. Yes, curriculum is updated.

    Placements

As per I know quality of placement is good. Some of my seniors got job in top companies with amazing packages. It totally depends on you how much you can perform. You can get average package of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

    Value for Money

Comparing to other colleges, course fee is relatively high which is not that worthy. Although there are changing their curriculum with time. But courses are little bit expensive. Otherwise, college is good.

    Campus Life

Campus life is amazing. There many activities to explore yourself. You can swim, play any game of your interest. Apart from that there are many societies and clubs to explore your interest. The evening view of COS is amazing.

    Others

All over I am enjoying my Thapar journey. It is giving me all type of experiences which are nurturing my life.

    College Infrastructure

acedmic buildings are great.. but hostel and mess or not meeting their value........sports centre is not uptu tha mark but good for cricket football and basketball.....health centre is only for name so dont have hope with that

    Academics

most of the teachers are just for name ...at the end u have to study on ur own.......i m studying computer eng here and all top teachers are teaching to senior students.......so u have to wait for 2 years for them

    Placements

placement are good here as it depends on students and thapar attracts an intelligent crowd as well......about 80% placememts are done last year with a package of 43lac highest....average salary is 8 lac around

    Value for Money

around 4 lac per year ..including mess and hostel...but these can be arranged in less than half of this

    Campus Life

campus life depends on ur friend circle ..if u got it..u got the college life

    Thapar and thapar peeps

    College Infrastructure

College is well equipped with necessary stuff related to studies and to improve quality of life so there is no hindrance in studies. Most of campus is air-conditioned. There are proper equipments for sports and gyms which are accessible to all in the campus. Hostels in 1st year may not be equipped with AC but the memories you made in these hostels are priceless, in 2nd year you will get the AC rooms with ease but you will consider the hostels of 1st year the best. Hygiene is very good and food?

    Academics

Not all the professors know how to teach there will be some of professors in each department that will make study easy and thorough for you others are not best but are good, and few of them are just joke. Curriculum is proper and includes every thing necessary for you to learn to survive in industry. The study may make you job-ready, but you need more than that for a top notch job.

    Placements

In computer engineering if you are not placed you are the most unluckiest person in the universe. The top-notch packages are limited because people with top-notch skills are limited, if you are excellent in any field no one can stop you from getting 25 lakhs+ package. Average salary in COE department is about 500K. College is suppirtive in placements.

    Value for Money

Very very expensive, if you are good in studies scholarships will help. Get a very good CG through out the graduation and study almost free. I'm paying almost 500k lakhs per year for college education, hostel and mess. It's not worth money though very expensive for a common man to pay.

    Campus Life

Campus life is awesome. Best memories of life will cherish your life in the time you are here. Lots of stuff to do for every kind of person to do. Many many many societies to work in technical or non-technical. Being art of fests and making possible big events will bring you a big smile on face and will bring better out of you. There are people from every part of country and from outside too. Ofcourse college life can't be like karan johars movies but you will find it awesome.Location is perfect

    Others

On your early days frosh team (students part of society in which most people want to be in) will make you familiar with college and make your every day fun till study continues. But events will continue throughout the semester. Life will be fun if you want it to be. Explore more out of you. Even if you start studying 2 weeks before exams you can be a topper. Just do fun. Little bit of coding too(its necessary).

    Good experience

    College Infrastructure

It's too good, clean and hygiene food, have all facilities including classrooms, wifi, cricket ground, clean water and are well maintained, facilities are good, and equipments are good too, nice greenr.

    Academics

Quality is teaching is good ....teachers are helpful, yes developments are required because there's need to focus on new technology, what company actually required, teaching of java and python in classes

    Placements

Quality of placement is good...85% students get placed...highest salary offered is 40 lac and for computer science...average is 5 lac...college is supportive, but never sat in placement...next year maybe

    Value for Money

2.5 lac per semester approx its costly, food isn't too good depending on amount we pay...but infrastructure and healthcare is good.... I feel only 60% of my money's getting worth because 2.5 lac per semester is quite high

    Campus Life

It's too good, students can engage in sports, functions, societies, dance music art, everything, teacher staff is good and location is good too yes it's safe, and it can handle emergencies...overall campus life is good

    Others

Quite good college but bit costly. Infrastructure, healthcare is good

    College Infrastructure

One of the top most infrastructure in Indian Engineering colleges. Very well equipped practical labs, fully air conditioned lecture halls and They have a huge central library which is one of its main attraction

    Academics

Right now i am a student of B.E Computer Science and Engineering and i personally feel that the curriculum designed for engineering students is very good. They have all essential subjects may it be technical or related to personal development.

    Placements

Placements are also good as far as Computers and Electronics branches are concerned. Every year many top notch MNCs come here and offer handsome salary packages to the cream layer students. Although there's a tough competition for placements as there are approx 2500 students enrolled this year. But they give you all possible opportunities which you deserve.

    Value for Money

It depends on the individual how one is spending four years of his/her college life. As the college has a big hefty fee of approx 20 Lacs including hostels, it also provides the facilities of that level only. So if you are active enough in your college then 20 Lacs is nothing otherwise you may regret about your college.

    Campus Life

Campus life is awesome, having a campus in the middle of the city is just awesome

    Others

Overall it is a good college with good facilities and records. You should try to enroll in this college.

    College Infrastructure

The infrastructure of thapar institute is one of the best. Labs and classrooms here are equipped with latest study materials and latest technologies. Hostels are secure and comfortable. The living spaces are nice, clean, and hygienic. The food provided in the mess is good.

    Academics

Academics of this college is amazing. Teachers are helpful and well-experienced . There are doubt sessions for subjects every week. The teaching quality is up to the mark. Regular workshops are organised which help the students to gain extra knowledge.

    Placements

The placement record of past years is amazing. Almost 93% of students are placed in high profile companies. The average salary lie within range of 6-7 LPA. The process of placement is easy and the institute also supports all the students.

    Value for Money

The fees here is bit expensive. My fees per annum is about 5,00,000 (including hostel, mess and other expenses). The fees is very high as compared to other colleges. The facilities provided here are great but sometimes i feel that the fees is too much.

    Campus Life

The college life is really great. There are many activities to do in the college. There are many events organised in the college every month. There are many cafeteria and food spots to enjoy variety of foods.

    Others

According to me, this college is the best option to choose.

    College Infrastructure

Yes, it's good all the facilitiea availed properly to students. May be due to high fees infrastructure it's possible for them to accommodate large facilities. But all in the end its good to be stated.

    Academics

I m studying be coe and think it's gr8 to study it and can relate to the good teaching provided as well. Though some teachers might not be brilliant as they should be but it's fine that teaching is not bad.

    Placements

As far as I have heard it have good placement packages but I haven't went through the procedure so can't say much about it and also I don't know about it much too.. So that's what I have to say about it.

Have a question related to Thapar University ?

    Hello,

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Thapar University) offers B.E./B.Tech admissions through two modes:

    • JEE Main Scores: 50% of seats are allocated based on JEE Main performance.
    • Class 12 Merit: The remaining 50% are filled based on Class 12 marks in Physics, Mathematics, and one subject from Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational.

For B.Tech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering, admissions consider NEET scores or Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Thapar University does not conduct a separate entrance exam for these programs.

    Hope it helps !

should i take admission in MA Psychology course in Thapar University?

    Hello Aspirant,

Thapar University is one of the most renowned Universities in India. In terms of quality of education, holistic development, healthy student culture, placement package, and even the fee. But as far as I know, it is mostly known for its B.Tech courses. I would suggest that if you have other options like DU, Christ University, or any other central university, maybe consider them before resorting to Thapar University.

    Hope this helps
