Yes it does has all the facilities as well as it has all the neccessary infrastructure for the students . Wifi and other important facilities are here . Living spaces are clean and hygiene is taken care of.
I am studying computer Science and engineering here. Quality is teaching is ok ok , highly qualified teachers and lab faculty , curriculam is is updated and up to date and the college works to make student job ready
Quality of placement of my branch has been good , most of the students have been placed and large no of companies are coming and big companies also , most of the students get place with a good package
Course cost is high and overall the amount of money spend can be recovered easily if you work hard and you'll get a good placement , money spent is worth it because of the facilities provided in college
Campus life is good , boys have a way more freedom then girls , the last time to entrt girls hostel is 9:30 , apart from that the facilities available are good and it is safe in the college and can handle emergencies
Everything is kinda good. No need to worry for safety and all , some teachers are supportive and some even help in making of big projects and overall it is good Experance being in Thapar institute of engineering and technology.
Library and new academic building are excellently built and meet international standards. Hostels are okay and usually get better with each year, but they are anyway far better than government colleges'. Food and hygiene are okay and usually depend from hostel to hostel.
Depends on professors and the grasping power of students. Some professors are really good. Some make you attend classes only for attendance. The overall environment creates a good learning experience if you're ready to put in a little more efforts.
Decent placements. Average placements usually reach 7-8 lacs. Again it depends on how much skill you have gained as an individual. Some placements (usually in COE,ECE,ENC branches, but not necessarily) go as high as 25+ lacs.
It's quite large and hostels are good too..food a bit bad..but compared o other colleges guess it's good.Class rooms are very good . Thapar also have it's very own market.itsalso have various playgrounds.
Academics quite good too..some teachers re very good and hey take pain to do anything or you. Many faculty member have studied from IIT and are quite good. Teachers also use projectors for the class and it's quite good.
Placements are good too .Many good companies come. But as the footfall is quite large the competition is high and various coding Tests are also conducted.Internships for third year is quite tough and one should e very good to achieve that.
Best thing about TIET is it's infrastructure, be it the laboratories or the hostels the facilities provided to the students are the best. For the first year students the hostels are a bit harsh in condition but have their own vibe of being a hostel place having 62 years of legacy. The hostels get a lot better with the further years.
In general the curriculum has all the required elements in it, it's much better than general colleges as it is having a touch of the Trinity college, dublin. The professor's range from very good to extremely worse but once you're in college you realise it with time that teachers don't matter after a point of time and only self study works be it IIT or TIET
I guess the placements at Thapar is it's strongest suite. Around 80% of the batch for the year 2020 was placed, opportunities at this college for placemets are tremendous, it's upto the students to seize them. I have seen people with an aggregate CG of 6.3 get packages in the range 8-10LPA while I have seen people with 8.5-9.0 managing with a package of 4.5-6.0LPA. Avg package for Computer engineering is around 7.5-8.5 LPA for ENC is 7-7.8LPA and overall is around 6.2-6.8 LPA.
My fees from the year 2017 to 2021 in total has been around 16-17.5L, according to me which is a bit high, but for a private college this was fine. But as the years go forward this price point has kept on increasing at a rapid rate, currently for this year admits it would be around 20-20.5L.
The college has around 50+ societies, clubs and communities. Other than that the college is pretty much the most lively place post the college hours, the entire campus is covered with green areas of trees and shrubs and there are very less restrictions for the students to move around in the campus the campus in time for students has recently been increased. The college sees many tests and events throughout the year.
Thapar is an institute with a legacy of its own not only is the academic curriculum good but also the extracurricular activities at college are also very good. This place has a vibe of its own which shows forth in all the graduates from this place but recently this place has started increasing it's intake and fees both at a huge rate, if the college reaches a stable point with this only then can it once again thrive, else we would see a downfall of a great place.
College is beautiful, infrasturcture is eye stocking, classes are equipped with latest technology, labs are equipped with all the necessary apparatus.campus is green, there is wifi connectivity inside the whole campus, campus is clean.
Quality of teaching is good, they will clear all the doubts if you ask them, faculties are experienced and have adequate knowledge of the subject.they make you competition ready, teachers are also very friendly.
Thapar is famous for its placements, thus it is famous among the aspirants of jee mains, most of the students get placed every year, more than 600 companies visit our college.if you are little more than average you will surely get placed in a good company.
The fees is bit high, the academic fee is roughly 2 which is slightly more than it worths and the fees keeps on increasing every year which is slightly more as compared to other colleges.but it gets worth because placements are good enough.
This is awesome, there are very less restrictions in the student, campus is safe, green and beautiful there are so many societies which encourages extra curriculum, many events happen on the grand scale in this college, people are friendly.
Placements are good and the college is beautiful.
I have been studying at this college for more than a semester and my experience has been great so far, despite of the college being around 60 years old, they always focus on latest equipment and infrastructure. all the facilities required in an engineering college are fulfilled
I am currently pursuing electronics and communication engineering here, i have always been interested in the circuit analysis of an object. the curriculum is upto date and the teaching is in accordance with the new discoveries and findings amongst the world
i havent been able to participate in placements myself as i am in first year but the placements are good enough with an average of about 10lpa which is good enough for a private college with a placement rate of 94%
Infrastructure is probably the best thing about the university. Smart boards and wifi in all buildings. Clean campus and great sports facilities. The computer block that's newly constructed is extremely good.
Decent academics, good teachers with good experience. Mechanical and Computers have the best courses here with decent reputation of elections also Lab are good and fully equipped. Good time in lab to get hands on experience.
The placement record has been going down rapidly especially for branches like chemical and civil. Computer and electronics are still good with good average packages and several opportunities.internship
The infrastructure is really nice. Great facilities in the academic block. Especially the new computer science block. Smart class in all rooms and wifi in all buildings is available. The campus is hygienic.
Decent academics considering a private university. The faculty is experienced and good for most of the subjects. Although there has been a drop recently due to large intake of students in the past years
Placements are good for COE ENC and ECE and some what for mechanical also. Not that good for other branches. Still pretty decent average package compared to most of the private engineering universities in India
Infrastructure of this college is outstanding. All classes are equipped with latest technologies like projector, stylus pen board, mic, speakers soundproof walls, wooden work. Labs are also eqipped with all required instruments. There are countless labs in Thapar. There is wifi connectivity in whole campus. CS labs have awesome computers. Whole campus is green and fully clean. Cafe's and canteens are also good.
I am studying Computer Engineering and Faculty is good. Quality of teaching is better than other universities. There are some subjects like professional communication which makes us job ready by developing communication skills for interview.
It is because of placements scenario that thapar is famous for most of the JEE aspirants. But it's true, there are more than 600+ companies which visit our college and some are mass recruiters which take 80+ students at one time. Also average CTC Is 7 LPA which is awesome.
This is the thing which is not good at Thapar like our curriculum fees are roughly 2 lakhs for one semester which increases every year. Only the development fees is Rs. 55000 which is a bit high. But you got value for this money as you may get placed if you are a Computer Engineer Student.
Campus Life is the most amazing feature of Thapar. There are no strict restrictions on students. Campus has societies that are countless and events are organized daily. Campus is also safe and handles emergencies of all kind.
the newly constructed lecture theaters and labs are amazing with the best facilities but are usually for the freshers. rest of them have their classes in pother blocks which are without a/c's otherwise they are also fine.
almost all the faculties are well experienced in their fields, although there still few which i feel are not up to the mark. there is not much update in the curriculum but still this year new software's were being taught unlike previous years
there is always lack of companies for placement in civil branch and here also it is the same case. placements are not even 50% for civil branch and i haven't seen big companies coming in this college.
Hello,
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Thapar University) offers B.E./B.Tech admissions through two modes:
For B.Tech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering, admissions consider NEET scores or Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Thapar University does not conduct a separate entrance exam for these programs.
Hope it helps !

Hello Aspirant,
Thapar University is one of the most renowned Universities in India. In terms of quality of education, holistic development, healthy student culture, placement package, and even the fee. But as far as I know, it is mostly known for its B.Tech courses. I would suggest that if you have other options like DU, Christ University, or any other central university, maybe consider them before resorting to Thapar University.
Hope this helps
